I want to have faith in Boris’ abilities, but isn’t his personal life in total disarray right now? Didn’t think that bode well...

I watched some of today’s proceedings via Periscope. Too bad I was cooking, I wanted to get down on my knees and thank God that we don’t have a Parliment....
And then some Dems’ faces flashed in from of me...hmmmm...who is worse?
And then I just watched 67thousand Brits and guests, filling Hyde Park, all singing “Bohemian Rhapsody”.
So, I like the Brits better than a whole awful lot of the Dems.

Does a Brexit victory inspire Trumps bases enthusiasm or will a remainer victory steel hatred of the deep state and make Trump voters more resolute?
Thats all I care about.

For you historians, when was the last time UK was in shambles like this. Shortly after Chamberlain came back from Germany waving a piece of paper?
To: RummyChick
The October 31 date was negotiated with the EU so how can Parliament pass a law to stop a no deal without the EU ,it’s really screwed up ,LOL
To: RummyChick
Boris Johnson shut down Parliament for five weeksPresident Trump wishes he could do that to Congress.

That's what the EU wants you to believe ...
UK is fine, economy is humming along, and it's still the safest & most stable country in Europe ... but there's also a lot of EU shills trying desperately to scare the voters into backing off from Brexit
To: canuck_conservative
I don’t really mean the economy.
I am talking about this mess in Parliament. It is a cluster#### with Bojo maybe ending up in jail over it.

1215, maybe.
The year King John assented to the Magna Carta.
Although it did not fully go into effect till around 1240, when one of his descendants pushed a more acceptable form through for the English Barons.

Didnt think that bode well...But didn't you say on that other thread "the wolves will attack the emerging leaders of the conservative movement and NOTHING is off limits: families (children!) , homes, jobs, etc..."?
I think you were right.

The joys of a parliamentary democracy!
After 800 years, there's many procedural tricks available, for both sides ... enjoy the show
and don't believe the EU-sympathetic reporting - which is as thick as the late-summer weeds - BoJo isn't down & out yet, he's still PM and still calling the shots
To: aposiopetic
Yes this is true. So I give him benefit of the doubt. Timing is key though. For example, I’m glad Trump ran for President in 2016 as a settled, married man and not smack in the middle of a Marla Maples style scandal you know?
To: RummyChick
If Boris sticks to his guns, he will be a great hero.
To: RummyChick
If Johnson violated the latest parliamentary passed law and allowed Brexit to go ahead as of 10/31 with no deal, he might go to jail but he would be a patriot and I don’t think he’d be in jail for a long. But could the British courts step in to thwart him by declaring Brexit itself “illegal”?
