The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday remanded the lenient prison sentence given to the man who attacked Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul on his property, finding that a federal district court lacked a compelling justification for sentencing him to only 30 days in prison. Rene Boucher was arrested in November 2017 for attacking Paul outside his Kentucky home after the senator blew some leaves into his property. Boucher entered Pauls property and tackled him from behind, breaking six of his ribs and causing a pleural effusion, which ultimately led to pneumonia.

The lower court seemed to think status matters. The upper didn’t, but it seems we can get away with things in the lower courts.
Clinton.
I don't like idiot demoncRats, but you can't almost kill a sitting member of Congress because you're upset, and not get your ass kicked to the curb for a decade or so.
It's an attack on our government, as well a disenfranchisement of the voters who by a majority voted the guy in, whether we like it or not.
Even the squad should be free from an attack of this sort. They should be impeached, but that's another story.

If Elijah Cummings had this happen to him, Id feel the same way I do about Rand Paul: 20 years hard time, for the above reason. And thats _above and beyond_ the injury to the person.
And, the earlier decision was also racist and discriminatory. Lets face it, people of lesser means dont have the same opportunities to become educated, upstanding (whatever the heck that means) members of the community. It was an absolute outrage of privileges and biases.
When this guy is in jail and outside in the jailyard with his mind occupied pruning shrubs, the inmates convince a huge linebacker type to take a running shot at the guy and hit him in the same way he hit Rand Paul.
That would be true justice.
In a sense, as an attack from behind it was kind of a PMITA violation, so a stint in a PMITAP is probably more rather than less warranted.
Nothing like a cowardly leftist judge getting bitch-slapped by an upper court. Looks really good on his resume if anyone gave a damn.
“Some Federal judges are sane and the rest are Carter, Clinton, and Obama appointees.”
A few Bush appointees also moved to the dark side. Consider the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court for starters.

The Constitutional remedy for incompetent and unlawful judges is impeachment and removal by Congress. Unfortunately the GOP Congresses have demonstrated no willingness to hold unlawful leftist judges accountable to uphold the law as written. Congress also has the power under the Constitution to limit the authority of lower courts. Again, Congress has refused to take action so the lower court judges have simply assumed the power to change legislation and declare actions of the president null and void. As a result the dictates of a single appointed, unaccountable judge count for more than the will of the people expressed through their elected representatives. Until Congress puts a stop to it, or a president refuses to bow to the tyrants in black robes, the people will be subject to the tyranny of the judiciary.
“Rene Boucher should go to prison for 10 years...This was a vicious pre-meditated attack.”
It was also a POLITICAL HIT, and, if anything, 10 years is light. People in politics, particularly Republicans, put themselves in enough peril and shouldn’t have to worry about their neighbors, even if they are political activists.
Yeah - that well-educated part means he absolutely had no doubt that what he was doing was as wrong as one can get without actually killing someone...
Prosecutors were asking for 21-27 mos so Boucher should get about 2 years. He deserves anything up to 5 years IMO. Rand Paul could have easily died. Frankly I’m shocked that justice is going to be served.
Thanks for the comments of agreement.
Was the guy Black? If so I hadn’t heard that.
The verdict was outrageous, no doubt about it.
LOL, can’t argue with that.
I think it goes back to the same loon judge. She can simply say, “Ok, let’s make it 31 days”.
Was the guy Black? If so I hadnt heard that.
No, but those types of arguments also open the door for leniency due to _lack_ of the proper circumstances to become an upstanding person (whatever that means).
Okay. I thought there was a racial overtone there and perhaps I’d missed something. Not dinging you.
