The owner of right-leaning cable news channel One America News Network (OANN) has filed a defamation lawsuit against Rachel Maddow and others claiming that the 46-year-old liberal commentator maliciously and recklessly smeared the network as a Russian state propaganda outlet.
In a press release obtained by Law&Crime, attorneys for OANNs owner Herrring Networks, Inc. said they filed a $10 million defamation lawsuit against Maddow, Comcast Corporation, NBC Universal and MSNBC in a California federal court.
The lawsuit tracks a series of longstanding grievances between OANN and Comcast.
According to the press release, the complaint alleges that Comcast refused to carry the right-wing network because OANN counters the liberal politics of its own channel, MSNBC. One week after that, OANNs founder Charles Herring sent an open email to Comcast deriding their alleged anti-competitive censorship.
Maddow apparently responded in turn, defending her own networks owners by blasting OANN and telling her own audience the right-wing network really literally is paid Russian propaganda.
Should help her ratings.
$10M actually seems low.
“the right-wing network really literally is paid Russian propaganda.
Since this is literally a lie her saying this on air should help them with the suit.
Do any of the cable companies carry OANN?
Direct TV does...................
Verizon FIOS does as well.
“$10M actually seems low.”
That’s $543,000 per viewer.
Frontier
I wonder if Rachel knows what literally means.
Use of the word doesnt leave her any room to say she was being sarcastic or being humorous.
Using the word suggest that she has proof of the assertion. If she can not produce proof she has no defense.
Frontier did I had to cancel them when my bill went up to $279.00 a month, Spectrum does not carry OANN and I miss OANN!!!
Jolly joker!
Good to see you again!
I hope you are right and that "fight back" attitude is extended to the NRA in a lawsuit against the city of SF.

Lawsuit isn’t going anywhere, though. Rachel Maddow will have crack lawyers arguing that she made the allegation without malice, because the Russians already stole the election for Trump and are using bots to get blacks and gays to “walk away,” all of which is well documented on media reports. So she was wrong about Rightside, but you might see where she could make an honest mistake.
Regardless, however, it’s worth doing. Crack lawyers cost lots of money, and they can milk a case like a farting cow. MSNBC will have to keep paying and paying and paying...
Rightside=OANN. My mistake.

Direct TV, as others have said. I don’t watch their news much, but I TIVO Liz Wheeler M-F and watch every show.
Her commentaries on every subject she covers are spot on. She is a gifted speaker/debater. She does repeat some of them, but it’s a different dress.
I LOVE her “glamorous” appearance. A REAL woman. Too bad she just got married, wait ... so I am I!(”married”, that is).
Yup
that comment crosses the line between “opinion” and “fact”
