'Modern day Pharisee': Presidential Candidate Pete Buttigieg gets some comeuppance
American Thinker ^ | 09/09/2019 | Monica Showalter

Pious Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg has a brother-in-law who seems to have had it up to here with his wearing his religion on his sleeve and scolding others.

According to an exclusive interview in the Washington Examiner, which found the man out in the wilds of a small town in probably rural Michigan:

"What we see is a modern-day Pharisee," said [Pastro Rhyan] Glezman, referencing the 1st-century Jewish sect that was notorious for demanding its followers adhere to an exhaustive list of trivial laws to earn God's favor. "Buttigieg is a person who's making up their own rules and regulations and, basically, if we don't celebrate and endorse their interpretation of Scripture, our religion is fallible. And that's not true."

He expressed considerable frustration with Buttigieg's holier-than-thou stance on abortion, claiming that Christians should only consider a baby human after it draws its first breath, justified by what he claimed to be Bible references. Mighty convenient, of course, as a means of contradicting most Christian teachings since abortion became legal.

What's more, it's an argument that doesn't cut it on science grounds: babies breathe amniotic fluid rather than air in the womb and the Bible said nothing about it needing to be air. But even that's idiotic stuff because Buttigieg's going for a selectively literalist interpretation of the Bible not all Christians share, given that the Bible is full of contradictions.

The evangelical brother-in-law of Pete Buttigieg called on him to "repent" for using the Bible to justify late-term abortion and claimed the presidential candidate is "weaponizing" Christian teachings to promote a false religion.

The weaponizing, of course, is Buttigieg's hideous tendency to lecture with the same leftist agenda all the other candidates are pushing, but using God and religion as his stick to beat Christians

Satan knows scripture too. And easily can manipulate it to prove that the Bible supports him...to those who do not know scripture.

He knew us in our mother’s womb. The only time the “breath of life” is mentioned was the creation of Adam.

(I could be mistaken. Not an authority)

NOTE TO MONICA SHOWALTER:
The word you want is not pious, but sanctimonious.

Don’t forget John The Baptist leaping in his mother’s womb when Mary arrived at her cousin’s house. A sure sign of the baby’s awareness.

Pete Buttigieg is a product of McKinsey & Co., the CIA affiliated firm that runs the Democrat Party.

Chelsea Clinton worked for them.

Elizabeth Warren’s daughter worked for them.

McCready, running as Dem representative in special NC election tomorrow worked for them.

There is just no denying that a baby “in the womb” is a BABY!

Aborting (murdering) that baby is a SIN!

Exodus 20:13
You shall not murder

Hey Pete, you are such a “good” Christian, you may have heard of this one since it is one of the famous Ten Commandments.

Maybe the passage most influential for creating the common image of the Pharisees is Jesus' parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector at prayer. Buttigieg is as sanctimonious as that Pharisee (but more mean-spirited in the bargain).

Apparently there are only two Pharisees who left writings which are preserved: Paul of Tarsus and Josephus.

“What we see is a modern-day Pharisee,”
Actually this is wrong.
During much of the Jewish and early Christian community, there were many different opinions of what it meant to be correctly religious.
Pharisee was just one of the many.
Just as today.

What Pete is doing is right out of the SF Bay Area political handbook.
Pretend to be something you really are not so hopefully, voters will believe you.
His religion is homosexuality.

I once heard someone in a public forum ask Ken Kesey (of “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”) (of all people) when did he think “life” begins, and he answered “When did the Lord become incarnate?” Blew me away.

And then he went on, “But from a secular point of view, these ‘choice’ people, they claim they don’t know when life begins, but they sure know how to end it. If that being in your womb wasn’t alive, you wouldn’t be looking it kill it.”

Everybody, even a little child, would know that. As Benjamin Franklin said, “We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.”
