I used to work with a guy who raised rabbits for food to sell. At Christmas, he would give us all a ready-to cook frozen rabbit. One of the guys was unimpressed and gave me his. They were pretty yummy eating, IMO.

During WW2, while Dad was off to the war and meat was rationed, we raised rabbits. As the oldest child,it fell to me to butcher them whenever Mother needed meat for the table. They tasted good,but I never really got comfortable with the process. It was especially bad when one of them started screeching partway through the process.

However, our cat enjoyed the fresh liver and kidneys I'd give him as I them out. He'd come running when he heard me sharpening the knife.
