Not really.

All they’re doing is the typical driveby shooting of the President.

His point is not that the storm was going to hit Alabama, but early on it could. THAT was factual.

They (like they ALWAYS do) tried to make the case that this just shows Donald Trump is a dum bass, “hee, hee, hee.” Look at us laugh at him.

Now, we know this President is going to hit BACK if you hit him. And their initial claims of dum bassery were frankly ludicrous, because we all saw those early models. You can lament it, but it is certain. It is as inevitable as... hurricanes in August!

WE ALL know they’re the ones twisting the steel balls, not PDJT.

I lived in Central Florida and it was possible for the Hurricane to cross the State of Florida and then continue to Alabama. At the time Trump held up the map that was a possibility.

If the F’ing weather people are so smart why does the map show the hurricane hitting Central Florida. The hurricane walked up the coast to North Carolina. I did not see that on your F’ing map you brilliant weathermen!

I can’t believe they are doubling-down on this. The path of a hurricane is not completely predictable, and Dorian was originally expected to brush Florida and move up along the Atlantic coast and into the Carolinas, which would take it right along the Alabama coast. Some impact on Alabama was quite likely.

I was thinking about this yesterday, as I couldn't believe that the media was actually going all in on their idiotic tangent. My conclusion is that the media are going to try to create "Trump fatigue" by doing over-the-top reporting on pretty much any little tempest they can make up. They have done this in the past with other Republican pols and the GOP itself, so that is the only way that this nonsense makes sense to me.

TWELVE models showed Alabama targeted when Doria was hotting Puerto Rico. How is this even a controversy. Of course Trump was right, despite the dumb “Sharpie” move.

“Former top officials of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration are assailing the agency for undermining its weather forecasters as it defends President Donald Trump’s statement from days ago that Hurricane Dorian threatened Alabama.”

This isn’t even news. It’s smear. The Democrats have chosen to ride this pony down to the ground even knowing there isn’t a chance in HELL they will succeed taking him out with such a non issue. Absolute desperation. Makes me feel good in a way.

No, the insane, agitated, disconnected-from-reality-and-WAY-the-f#%k-out-of-proportion ravings of his opponents is like captain Queeg. What Trump said was simply true. The early zone of concern was, in fact, what he said it was. And the failure of some bureaucrats to lie about that in order to serve the “higher good” of excoriating Donald Trump, the facts be damned, is not tantamount to the destruction of civilization. THAT is the stuff of Bogart’s character.

I’m not gonna lie to appease.

It wouldn’t be fair to those here.

Trump needs to let go of some things sometimes.

It would have died much faster if he wouldn’t have shown a falsely marked up map.

It wasn’t even a GOOD attempt :)

Blank outline when the rest of the path was in white :)

ciao

Tweet: AL National Guard
#HurricaneDorian is projected to reach southern Alabama by the early part of the week. We are watching closely and #ready to act. Are you?

Alabama newspaper:

30 Aug: Dothan Eagle: Local officials monitoring Dorian as it approaches U.S.; calls to area hotels increase
by Jeremy Wise
Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Agency Director Chris Judah said local officials initiated preparations on Thursday for the storm, a Category 3 hurricane as of early Friday afternoon.
While most tracks indicate Dorian will turn to the north and east before reaching the Gulf of Mexico, National Weather Service meteorologists have not ruled out that it will reach the Gulf of Mexico before the trajectory changes. If Dorian reaches the Gulf of Mexico before making the projected turn, it could affect the area much more significantly than the rain showers predicted for the Wiregrass in a few days...

For emergency personnel, initial preparations included coordinating response resources with the state EMA office, Gov. Kay Ivey’s office, the American Red Cross and other first-responder groups. Judah encouraged Wiregrass residents to analyze their emergency plans and stock up on needed materials like canned goods, water and batteries in case Dorian approaches...

Former top officials of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration are assailing the agency for undermining its weather forecasters as it defends President Donald Trump’s statement from days ago that Hurricane Dorian threatened Alabama.

Former deep state NOAA officials made fools of themselves. They should look at the charts before they open their mouths.

We were all concerned that Dorian might cross over Florida into the Gulf and move north east. How can they even think that was not a possibility?

Hate dominates Democrats. Why are they trying to deny what actually happened, when we can all see how foolish they are?

Not a single one of them predicted that Dorian would stall over the Bahamas for so many hours! Maybe more of them should become "former" officials.

just another insane TDS episode, with the FakeNewsMSM being the ones who politicised the story. they are a bad joke.

only cached version worked for me:

Transcripts - CNN.com 28 August 2019: CNN TONIGHT
(DON) LEMON: So we’re talking about the potential of the storm getting really big and we don’t know exactly where the storm is going to hit. But there are many states that are under threat right now, Derek.

(DEREK) VAN DAM: At least six. From the Carolinas right through Georgia coastline into Florida certainly and then also even into the Gulf of Mexico. Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, you need to be on the lookout. This is the projected cone. The time frame here is Sunday evening into Monday morning. With the potential landfall all computer models putting central Florida on its radar scope.
But it really has so many factors. So many different steering currents that will guide this storm over the coming days. We are going to keep making alterations to the path. So, be on alert from Carolinas right through Florida and eventually in the Gulf Coast as well, Don.
