I would have had someone feed the a-hole reporter some minor stuff that was true, then feed a big, juicy false story to him and get all emails, contacts recorded for smacking him down in disgrace.

I would say that outing reporters who are ethically challenged is,especially now, fair game since a WP reporter printed a off the record conversation by Trump’s receptionist that cost her her job.

I have to ask if anyone would have a problem with this if the reporter was employed at Pravda.
“Off the record”, “on background”, “according to sources”, and similar phrases have become convenient cover for the use of fabrications. Any “journalist” using them should be assumed to be a liar and exposed as such.
Real reporters report.
Sounds like a good way to setup this reporter with false information. The media has been caught so many times in fake news, use this to set them up. The crazier the story you can convince them of, the better.
