You nailed it. Passage of the 17th meant Senators could be bought. It was the death of the republic.

That will be interesting to see - a National Security State with no locks on the doors, a wrecked economy and many more enemy combatants in congress and the White House. Justa matter of time imo. When Texas goes blue, (very soon) it’s over.
