LD 50 of THC. You can have all kinds of reasons for opposing the use of THC but I wouldn’t continue to cite that as one of them. As far as the LD 50 THC is probably the safest drug ever discovered.

The mechanisms of death are “marked increase in heart rate or supine blood pressure”.
Concentrated THC derivatives consisting of up to 80% THC are now available - one tenth of an ounce of these would contain a LD50 dose of 2 grams of THC.
I mention the LD50 for a number of reasons. One, the article mentions that 99% pure THC is available, meaning that people can very easily ingest a lethal dose without even realizing that the stuff is toxic. Two, it does not take an LD50 to cause serious and even permanent harm. Three, marijuana proponents continue to spread the false notion that marijuana use is a harmless pastime and that marijuana is not only perfectly safe, but even has medicinal properties. Yes, marijuana is safer than carfentanil, but it is not safer than alcohol, to which its advocates love to compare.
LD=Lethal Dose. Okay, so one would have to smoke about a pound of MJ continuously and in effect, asphyxiate themselves to be killed out right from THC. Got it. So it s safe. But, ( and there is always a “but”) at what does level sustained or single incident does the smokers brain begin to be affected? 1/10 LD? 1/1000 LD? Hmm? At what point do we simply say “smoking/vaping inhaling such stuff intentionally is stoopid and impacts society as a whole, let alone these things ARE gateway paths to increased need for euphoria. Disagree all you want, the facts speak otherwise.
