It’s on the margin, I think. What happens is that people who would vote for Cruz, just for what you say, see the waiting lines (at least for early voting here) and say “oh well, he’s not worth my time, and he’s going to win anyway”. So not really a protest vote, more people not willing to walk over glass to cast their ballot. Almost bit us!
Any Republican who would fail to vote because of something Cruz said deserves his fate. How could anyone be dumb enough to punish the state — no, the nation — with Beto because Cruz was, at the time, having a feud with Trump?
Republicans in California dutifully voted GOP party tickets. How did that turn out for them? Keep voting GOP and California is in your future.

When it comes to Texas and some other states, for example, GA, my attitude is not a question of if but when it will turn Blue. Hopefully it will be towards the end of my life.

Pretty much. As Tucker has shown on Fox the GOP donor class is in near complete agreement with the progressive agenda. Immigration, socialized medicine, etc.
The GOP is just fine with Democrats doing the dirty work installing a European style social welfare state because they figure they can win future elections and manage a massive federal bureaucracy.
yes-the white liberal is pretty much a myth when it comes to driving the vote change. Its the growth of Hispanic population-that is what is shifting the votes. Texas is now up to 39% Hispanic. Get to 50% and its blue. the macro numbers tell us that:
Hispanics vote 70% Dem-and these Hispanic growth districts are the ones where GOP are retiring.
70% is not as bad as blacks at 92% but The U.S. Hispanic population surged another 1.2 million last year and now is a record 59.9 million, according to newly released U.S. Census Bureau population estimates.
The percentage of Hispanics as part of the overall U.S. population also jumped to 18%.6

Texas was safe RAT for nearly a century, and was a competitive two party state until the mid 1990s. But reminding people of that pesky historic fact doesn't fit their narrative about how the DemonRATS have always been shut out of power and its their turn to govern.
The RNC needs strong leadership that can whip the states’ GOP in shape. Though PJT is the de facto head of the RNC he needs robust help to whip the states.
