Texas Republicans sound alarm about rapidly-evolving state

Texas Republicans are sounding the alarm as Democratic presidential candidates get ready for their debate next week in Houston, warning that the Lone Star State could become more purple if the party doesn’t treat it as a 2020 battleground.

Most in the GOP are confident President Trump will win Texas and its 38 electoral votes next year, and they think Texas GOP Sen. John Cornyn will turn aside his Democratic challenger.

But they are worried they will lose more House seats a cycle after Democrats clawed back two districts as they retook their majority.

Five House Republicans have retired, including three in seats targeted by Democrats. The nonpartisan Cook Political Report rates them as either tossups or lean Democratic.

More broadly, Texas Republicans say the GOP can’t rest on its laurels in a state that is growing more competitive.

“We need all hands on deck and all Texans to pull together to make sure we don’t let the Democrats put an end to the longest successful run in Texas history,” said James Dickey, the chairman of the Texas Republican Party.

“There’s a lot of apathy and smugness and laziness here on the Republican side that’s got to be reversed or there will be a shock to the system at some point,” said George Seay, a Dallas businessman and top GOP fundraiser in Texas.

Demographics are slowly but surely changing the state as an influx of voters from California and other left-leaning states move to Texas.

Cruz did a GREAT JOB of suppressing the Republican turnout in 2018, thanks to his primadonna crap at the convention in 2016. Thankfully, he’s not the ballot next year. Things will be fine here, at least in 2020.

After that, how the Republicans do will be determined, in large part, by whether they can find someone who can both speak Spanish and explain conservative values (same for someone who speaks Asian, for that matter). So far, that hasn’t been a very high priority for them.

Not once in this article do they tell us the REAL reason Texas is turning blue.

ILLEGALS that have been bringing in anchor babies for at least 4 decades. Those anchor babies have been breeding like rabbits.

It will that Texas ballots will no longer allow straight ticket voting.

Gee, you think?

in a state that is growing more competitive.

One quick cure for apathetic Texans.......send out the word:

"Obama's dream is to make Texas Democrat."

There....that ought to "woke" 'em.

Texas might turn purple? More like it might turn brown.

And while they sound the alarm, Texas Republicans are all in for globalism, importing as many Muslims into Texas as they can. Also running all over California and New York trying to find every group of liberal people they can find to get to move to the state.

Rick Perry and Abbott are the classic capitalists selling the very rope that will be used to hang them. Never even crossed their mind that the people flooding in will not think, act, or vote as Texans.

The state government reaction to tranny story book hours in the library is a telling example. The state has done zero about perverts grooming children. There was a time in Texas when that would have been shut down immediately. The unfortunate truth is that the Texas GOP has a giant contingent that slavishly loves the Bush family.

“Demographics are slowly but surely changing the state as an influx of voters from California and other left-leaning states move to Texas.”

This could be a huge non-factor IF the TEXAS GOP would start acting like REPUBLICANS rather than a gaggle of spineless wimps.

Not holding my breath on that happening, though.

Presumably the percentage of Texas voters whose name end in “z” is increasing.

That is another scam that’s been perpetrated on the U.S. They are not citizens.
