Union bosses, closely tied to the Democrat Party, say American union workers sticking with President Trump in 2020 and his economic nationalist agenda is a serious problem for them.
A report by the Wall Street Journal reveals how union bosses and Democrats are looking to peel off Trumps support from American union workers who back his agenda, where most recently he has demanded multinational corporations move their production in China to the U.S.
The Journal reports:
Its a serious problem for us, said Alan Netland, president of the North East Area Labor Council in Duluth, Minn., which represents 40,000 union members. People may say, I voted Republican and the world didnt fall in, so maybe I better keep doing that.
Vice President of the United Mine Workers of America in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Chuck Knissel said based on the current 2020 Democrats running for president, it will be difficult to get union workers to vote for anyone other than Trump.
Its going to be tough to get our members to vote for a Democrat, Knissel told the Journal.

Your grandpa was a real American. I had a great-uncle in Cleveland...worked in the lumber mill...had a leg sliced off in a horrible accident . Did he lay down and die? No way! He found a different kind of employment. That used to be The American Way!
So sorry you lost your Dad that way.
Thank you. That was in 1960, and I still miss him.

Union bosses are way too late. Beyond the known nutbag or 2 that I work around in 3 separate unions, all the hands are voting Trump. Guaranteed.
Isn’t Biden from your state? Ask him.
Thanks Mr. Mojo.
Yeah, that Democratic Republic, and individual voting rights, I mean, that’s a serious problem, all right, you betcha.
The last time around, Hillary Clinton stood for the Democrats and the unions had no problems going all in to support her even if Trump peeled away support. This time around with all of the crazies standing for the Democrats, Trump will have far less problems peeling away support, because nobody is going to have much confidence in the ability of anyone but Biden (who is the poster boy for corporate overreach) to have any chance of successfully enacting anything that won’t crash the economy. That’s the other half of the idea that Teump won the last time and things turned out ok, whether or not the union worker voted for Trump the last time (which is immaterial by now). I think theres going to be more defections this time around.
You’re damn right we will continue to support Trump! My union has been telling me to vote Dem for decades. I never have and never will. Screw that.
What about your fellow union members though? Do they see the improvement under Trump or are they sold out to the Dem cause for the bosses?
This problem has been going on since WWII. I need to do some searching but this I can tell you:
My dad was a mining engineer, primarily gold. He worked all over the the northern aspects of Nevada and northern Ca in the 1930’s. He got a good job in the Philippine Islands, asked my mom to join him, they married and had two kids, one born just before the war in 1939 and another just before we were put into concentration camp in Santo Tomas about 4 years later. Three and half years later after internment we were liberated. He was never able to get another job as a mining engineer because he had to join a Union. He never carped or complained as far as I know about anything (not in front of us kids anyway ) but he had very bitter and harsh words for Unions which he never joined and never supported. The few times he talked about them, he sounded like he was living today. He knew the Unions are dictating every single aspect of their members lives. work and human life.
I wonder how one disarticulates a structure like the Unions?
I’d say it’s about the same as the general population. 50/50.
“Its going to be tough to get our members to vote for a Democrat, Knissel told the Journal.”
That’s because the last D president screwed them, and the current candidates are promising to do the same.
It’s nice to see that times have changed and now union workers think for themselves. In the ‘60s we had several men in our church near Buffalo who worked for Ford plants. They were instructed to vote for JFK — and they did. Some things are improving, I guess.
I think POTUS and Republicans need to run ads directly addressing this. Show how the union bosses live, what they get paid. Explain how they are all for shipping jobs overseas and bringing in illegals to replace them. Let the members know that the bosses only support the democrats with clips of some of the outlandish things they say. Then show video of people working again and DJT talking about the jons coming back. End with the question: Isn’t it time union bosses supported union workers?

That was beautiful.
