Agreed. If no names were publicized, the perps would stop. It makes them somebody as they go through life being told and feeling like a nobody.

No its not the a police decision, that name, his picture and his entire biography needs to be out there for all to see.
To: E. Pluribus Unum
This whole “I don’t want to give him any notoriety” shtick is PURE COW DUNG!
The perp is DEAD and likely in Hell, he doesn’t give a whit about “notoriety”.
So THE QUESTION is this:
W H A T do the “authorities” K N O W, and W H Y ARE THEY HIDING IT FROM THE PUBLIC?
This smells like Las Vegas all over again.
The victims and their families, the people of Texas, and the people of America demand answers, not the “dog and pony ‘runaround’ show” the “authorities” gave us all today.
The so-called “press conference” was a disgrace. And everyone knows it.

There’s almost zero online footprint for a person of that name.

I was confused by some reports of 2 shooters.
Also, I am a bit distracted by a serious weather event in my area.

I like how the chief has handled this and he didn’t say he wouldn’t release the name, only that he refuses to say his name. Good.

To: E. Pluribus Unum
They didnt want to give the murderer any notoriety by naming him.
The same people who insist the death penalty isnt a deterrent insist not naming a mass shooter is a deterrent!

Lots of questions:
Did Seth Ator have any prior convictions?
Did Seth Ator have an arrest record?
What did they find in Seth Ator’s car?
What did they find in Seth Ator’s dwelling?
Was Seth Ator a registered Democrat?
Did Seth Ator have a Facebook account, and if so what are all his postings there?
Same question for Twitter, Instagram and any other “social media” presence of Seth Ator.
Were they following Seth Ator, and if so, why?

Sounds like it is either an afluent having afluenza or an allah Akbar. This sht stinks like the Vegas-Philippino-ISIs deal.
If it was a mad anti police libertarian, you would know it by now, with cops crying about Blue Lives Matter propaganda and left wing unions pushing against sovereignists and guns.
