Aha! So, we're all wrong. The police aren't releasing the name because they don't want to "give him any notoriety."
So the police aren't going to release it, and if they had their way, it would never be released. To hell with the citizens' right to know. Presumably citizens have to have access to certain information in order to make informed decisions at the ballot box. But to hell with all that nonsense.

It is also shocking the number of times I hear that the shooter is able to continue firing for minutes on end, picking off victims and feeding off of people’s terror. If there were several armed citizens on the scene who could get into positions to return fire, it would be over a lot more quickly and hopefully with many fewer causalities.

When crimes that receive a lot of attention form clusters of this sort, it suggests that the desire for media attention, and notoriety is a strong motivating factor (4). Generally speaking, journalists and social media writers are unwilling to accept that sensational coverage of mass shootings makes these crimes more common (3).
The media will never accept that they've been a huge part in creating this problem.
Frankly, I think they've gone well out of their way the last few years to promote as many mass murders as possible because of their deranged "orange man bad" mentality. Anything to try and give the Dummycrats a leg up in the upcoming election and remove President Trump. That's what they're doing.
This sh*t will only change when we start storming TV stations, CNN, MSNBC and drag the progressive libtards out of their studio's while live and on-air.
That's what it's going to take. We're at that point.
