Anger over alleged Moscow election tampering spurs protest

Thousands of people marched across central Moscow on Saturday to protest the exclusion of some city council candidates from the Russian capital's local election, but did not result in riot police making mass arrests and giving beatings like at earlier demonstrations.

Opposition-led protests erupted in Moscow this summer after election officials barred more than a dozen opposition and independent candidates from running in the Sept. 8 election for the Moscow city legislature.

And yet some here have INCREDIBLY wonderful things to say about Putin to the point of “God Bless Putin”.

I’ve seen it.

He loves his country. He understands the threat of muslims and illegals.

And there could be far worse in charge in Moscow.

But I dont trust him and I dont admire him.

From what I understand, the reason that “mass arrests” were possible was that a large percentage of the males encountered at the “protests” were draft dodgers (a felony if it goes on too long). Another interesting tidbit was that among the people detained, a large number were not actually Moscow City residents, and a large number had excessive delinquent debts. Just food for thought.

They essentially do. It’s a class of young, whiny millennials who want to blame Putin for their lack of success in life. Luckily they aren’t even close to the majority, but our media reports their “protests” as if they are actually meaningful.

Well, at least Time thought so.

As long as things are done legally, and the measures implemented are legal, I’m not exactly sure there’s anything wrong with this sort of thing.

The Clinton and Obama administrations sent people over to affect the elections in Britain and Israel. I don’t believe their person prevailed either time.

When the Left does something, it’s portrayed as so intellectual and reasoned.

When the Right does something, it’s portrayed as so moronic and unreasonable.

Define legally. There was nothing legal about Yeltsin reelection in 1996. It was basically the end of Russian democracy. And it were Americans who taught them cheating.
Russia had generally free and fair elections between 1988 and 1996 although in 1993 Yeltsin usurped power in a military coup and generally downgraded lawmakers to a symbolic role. 1996 was a chance to reverse it but Clinton helped steal the elections. That was generally the first time for the Russians to realize that the American model they believed to be ideal is a sort of fiction.

“” “” The Clinton and Obama administrations sent people over to affect the elections in Britain and Israel. I don’t believe their person prevailed either time.”” “”

Why only Britain and Israel? You may easily include half of the World.
The problem with this situation is that the Department of State is somehow lazy now and was for quite some time.
It just takes too much work to find out who are the legit popular opposition in a targeted country or nurture it.
They are just setting a sort of tender and picking the lowest bidder willing to sell out.
This sort of people are naturally not the kind with much public support.
