I didn't need to look.
What is this “logic” that says, “oh, it wasn’t in his house - it was ‘just’ in his garage, so therefore the owner should not have defended himself”? Property is property - get off my lawn!
Stay the hell out of other people’s garages.
There was a similar thread last year, with most freepers saying to be careful before shooting, me among them. One freeper criticized me, saying it's better to shoot into the dark garage and stay alive. I said no, you must know your target before shooting. Other incidents have happened where homeowners shot and killed their own teenage children who came in through the garage at night.
If you feel threatened by someone your garage, be armed and ready to repel the threat but best to get some light on the target and be sure it isn't a harmless threat. In this case, homeowner had light in the garage and fired away. He's in trouble, if there was no weapon on the intruders.
“Just this year, Ohio joined many other states in requiring prosecutors to prove a homeowner did not act in self-defense”.
Your honor, the young men started toward me simultaneously and I was overwhelmed with fear...because I knew they were crazy or on some kind of dope making them crazy. Otherwise, they would not be in my garage.
Or, if they were in a car...
One of them turned to me rapidly, and I knew they were crazy (for the above reasons) and I thought I saw a gun in his hand.
Mr. Prosecutor prove that’s not what happened.
Facts are not all out yet. But shooting people that aren’t threatening your life is a no no.
I’m leaning towards bad shoot on this one
“I want answers,” Jimmy Harrison said.
Here’s the answer, Mr. Harrison.
Your son is dead.
That’s the bottom line.
Whatever happens after that is of far, far less importance, is it not?
If the police have doubts, then so would a jury. Not guilty.
Two of Obamas Sons.
It’s getting where you need a throwaway gun to defend your land.
I’m as gung ho as most, I have little sympathy for criminals, I have no qualms about shooting someone, but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have fired in this circumstance. I also don’t want to harm or kill anyone I don’t need to.
They want answers? Wtf. How about the community needing answers from pimp parents sending kids to do drug deals to avoid jail...
Oh, and how about the cops that let a drugged crazy steal their SUV and kill 2 children and injure 11, or about the killing of a woman by an officer chasing a vehicle on Springboro pike. I believe police in this area are TOTALLY out of control and dangerous. This should be investigated at the highest levels of government in Ohio; but won't be.
Oh, and I forgot to add that 2 of the people shot in the recent Dayton shooting were supposedly shot by police!
