Jordan Peterson has made the comment that we don’t know if men and women can work together. Someone pointed out that we’ve already shown that they can. His response, and I paraphrase, “It’s only been a few decades. How’s it working out so far?”

:)

“Most men know what sexual harassment is, and most women know what it is,” Leanne Atwater, a professor at the University of Houston and one of the study’s authors, told the Harvard Business Review. “The idea that men don’t know their behavior is bad and that women are making a mountain out of a molehill is largely untrue. ”

What the authoress does not address, even if we accept EVERYTHING else in her column as the truth, is that SOME women lie. Let's say that most women means 80%. That means your odds of drawing someone who has an expansive definition, or is willing to lie is greater than the odds of rolling doubles with two dice.

The fact that some women are willing to go on national television, put on a little girl voice, and sticking to a "stupid story" making her look like a "complete idiot" (Joe Cairo, Maltese Falcon), makes it clear that some are not to be trusted. We do not know which ones.

I never once had a situation where if I told the guy he was out of bounds, he didn’t listen and correct himself. It was a kind of “one-bite rule”.

Yup. I think we are decades past the point where a guy would repeatedly be a jerk. Sometime around 1970 or so people began to wise up and realize that boorish behavior wasn't OK. Sure, people still make mistakes, you tell the guy he's over the line, he corrects himself, and life goes on.

But in the modern era, one failed attempt at humor or small talk means a lawsuit and the end of a career. I am extremely cautious about women these days.

Actually “Disclosure” is a more appropriate Michael Douglas movie.

Typical Leftist BS from the Manchester Guardian. They’re not “angry” about the metoo movement. They’re scared of being accused and losing their jobs or careers on the basis of a single BS claim. Hey “believe all women” right? So how is a guy supposed to protect himself? Since she’s supposed to automatically be believed on the basis of having two X chromosomes, a guy’s only defense is to avoid women in the workplace as much as possible.

What did you expect feminazis? Why would anybody expose themselves to unnecessary risks?

“...men are terrified to be alone in a room with a woman.”

I must from that statement assume author Arwa is a she/ze/tranny. No real man would say that.

Men are rightfully cautious to be alone in a room with a woman now, just as they are rightfully cautious about distracted drivers, STDs and strange dogs. Not terrified.

Arwa’s a drama queen.

In the USAR, I had a clerk/typist assigned to me. On her third drill I had to let her go.

She asked, "Why, am I not doing a good job for you?"

I replied, "Your work is excellent, so I'll give very high marks on your evaluation. But, You're very much too pretty to have in my section, I've noticed I can't keep our Captain away from you. So for the good of the section, and YOUR safety, I'll have you reassigned away from our lecher."

I know that my male supervisor at work; when he has to talk to one of the women in my office, always has another woman present.

Who didn't see that coming? Rats and liberals.

Women already had all the power. Men had always jumped through hoops for approval of a mate.

Propriety? or Sluttery? Men can accommodate.

But now, women have the judicial system and social media in their corner and there is plenty of evidence that points to the fact that they are more interested in ruining a man today than finding a mate.

“Here’s an unpopular opinion: I’m actually not at all concerned about innocent men losing their jobs over false sexual assault/harassment allegations… Sorry. If some innocent men’s reputations have to take a hit in the process of undoing the patriarchy, that is a price I am absolutely willing to pay.” — Emily Linden

Pence has it right, and Wayne Gretzky before him(he would step off an elevator if a single woman got on).

There is falling out of an airplane without a parachute terror and there is losing all property, live and reputation terror. Just a slight difference of measurement.

I travel and do the 6 am hotel breakfasts at mid range places. It’s working guys gulping it down before another long, work-filled day (one of many), away from home and family.

Guess the percentage of gals doing such that I see.

I chose to work from home. If I want to talk with someone, I pick up the phone.

Good points!

I just retired from a YUGE mine construction job in a foreign country where the work force was about 40% women. I was the construction manager and what I noticed was that the interaction totally depended on the woman.
I had no problem at all with dining in the mess hall or just generally being friendly with some of the female staff. Others, not so much!

Never, ever anything other than just treating everyone professionally and treating the women just like the male workers...and I still maintain email contact with several of the "gals" I worked with.

But!, I never had a meeting alone with a female employee...no matter what her professional level...and NEVER had a female employee in my office with the door closed.

Men in the workforce have to be able to SEND the message that funny business is not and will not be tolerated.
I've worked under this personal standing order my entire career and have never had a problem...and am going on 40-years of marriage to the same lady this year.

And, NEVER touch!!

I wouldn't have done that anyway. The creep-out factor in that coming from your boss is more than any employee should have to deal with IMO.
