The Justice Department watchdog unveiled a report Thursday rebuking former FBI director James Comey over his handling of memos detailing his conversations with President Trump, saying he violated FBI policies.
The report from DOJ Inspector General (IG) Michael Horowitz rebutted Comey’s claims that the memos were merely personal recollections, not official FBI records, and sharply criticized the former FBI chief for mishandling sensitive information.
While highly critical of Comey’s actions, the inspector general did not make recommendations on whether the former top government official should face any charges, and Attorney General William Barr has declined to prosecute him.
The watchdog report has reverberated throughout Washington, thrusting Comey — a figure who has long drawn ire from members of both parties over his work at the FBI during the 2016 election — back into the political fray.

These fervent critics now have an independent government watchdog publicly confirming that Comey violated FBI policies and his employment agreement with the bureau when he decided to give memos to a friend in the hopes they would be shared with the media.

Yep, in a criminal trial it would probably be argued that he was within his discretionary power as head of the FBI to release the memos.

Yes I agree that the DOJ and FBI are now criminal enterprises and I no longer have in faith in them as I have not had faith in the CIA before now. In fact our entire govt is now tainted and should be considered invalid. Why should anyone have to follow any laws or pay taxes - oh yea the two tier justice system! We WILL BE punished as they never are! since they are dems, deep state and are on the SES payroll.
Ever hear anyone speak of that group - hush hush - no speak of their perks, high pay, no can pay and now obviously a “get out of jail free card”! Who knew!
The military is a different story until I learn different and certainly the fighting men and women deserve are trust, praise and thanks - always!
But not so for the other parts of govt mentioned, they deserve our disgust and should never be trusted - all those who work in those organizations should be considered bad apples until proven otherwise!
The memo's that Comey took home (as an "insurance policy" if he were to be fired) were not classified by Comey at the time (which many should have been).
The memo's that Comey DID classify above confidential, he left in the FBI office.
Comey leaks those unclassified documents he took home, or parts of them.
The FBI then does a review ex post facto and determines that what Comey took home was not classified above confidential.
Guess who the 4 FBI officials were that reviewed the documents to determine classification status...
Assistant director of the FBI Counterintelligence Division Bill Priestap, FBI general counsel James Baker, Peter Strzok and Lisa Paige.
So his friends and allies in the coup attempt where the ones who "determined" that the 4 memo's Comey took home (& leaked) where not to be classified above confidential.

Apparently, not to the FISA court judges. There hasn’t been a single report they are the slightest bit interested in pursuing the lies in them. Given that it seems unfathomable for the “Trump” DOJ to criminally prosecute anybody for it.
