Hurricane Dorian battered St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and brushing Puerto Rico. Taking aim at the Florida Atlantic Coastline, Hurricane Dorian is projected to be a major hurricane (Category 3) at landfall.

My stepfather-in-law lives on the barrier island ...just up from Sebastian Inlet. Often he rides it out. (*eye roll*. But he’s 85 and couldn’t give a sh*t). But THIS time he headed to friends in Tarpon Springs.

Glad he didn't want to be like Harry Truman, at Mount St. Helens.

Looks like we are making weather history - in an unpleasant way.

Yesterday I managed to put up posts and braces to support the PVC fence on the east side of the property {West Orlando}. I kneeled on the ground to pull some roots out of the post hole and found I could not get up even with four tries. Thankfully my son was helping and even though he has some CP he does weight lifting and he was able to pull me to my feet.

I finished the job, with his help, but seem to be quite weak ever since. I still need to cover the windows on the east side of the house and a few other chores - like add one guy wire to the solar tower... maybe tomorrow. It looks like we have until Tuesday at the latest. sigh

For all our sakes I pray pray pray that Dorian turns north earliest.

Oh, he’s a curmudgeon, for sure. But charming as heck. Picture the Dos Equis guy. :). Everyone who knows Ted says that guy is definitely modeled after Ted. He has been everywhere and done everything. Never graduated high school. His mother put him in the seminary..where he climbed the wall and ran away. Worked for the CIA in the early 1970s. Has been kidnapped by both the Iranians and the Israelies.

But YES...we’re glad he decided to go do his drinking with friends on the other coast :). God willing we’re heading down later this month.
