Hurricane Dorian battered St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and brushing Puerto Rico. Taking aim at the Florida Atlantic Coastline, Hurricane Dorian is projected to be a major hurricane (Category 3) at landfall.

Well, my mom in Wilmington, NC is convinced it is coming there...according to 11am stats, 8% chance tues-wed
Oh God.
It seems to be sticking with the 10 degrees south of due west track, for now.
Yes, prayers for the well being and safety of all freepers and everyone in the path of the hurricane.
Weak steering currents & stalling storms should never be trusted.
With 72 hours before Dorian turns north, even a 1 mph error in the storm's speed until then could result in a 72 mile error in how far west Dorian gets.
Stay vigilant. More changes could occur. It's a tough one.— Levi Cowan (@TropicalTidbits) August 31, 2019
Go east, stupid hurricane, go east!
Big Joe has stated on his twitter account that he will probably do his Saturday summary, on Sunday.
For what it’s worth, the ICON model has shifted landfall to south Florida again somewhere around Pompano Beach, sometime early A.M. Tuesday.
Got a bad feelin bout this one
Sunday night is the key. When the turn north occurs. Looks like tracks might predict a slowing during the turn in direction.
I don’t believe you...the climate was stable during that period! JK...I used to fill those shopping bags out every summer as well.
Accuweather video claimed the jet stream coming down from the midwest will cause drag that turns Dorian into the drag. That may all depend however on how big and powerful Dorian becomes.
There was a citrus farmer being interviewed on the lefty NRP radio station early this morning who was still recovering from the 'cane 2 years ago. He was genuinely asking for a miracle from God and calling for prayers that this thing would spare the people of Florida and go out to sea. I know I'm praying. With the sudden turn North, maybe God heard his prayers.
thanks very much.I’m not in your league of course.JUst a humble fishing rod builder herein the Keys.
It is sad however that institutions like the weather channel can’t tell what is really going on.For them it was alwasy the high pressure steering the storm.
LOL gotta have a little fun here.
Great job as usual NN. Your rep carries the entire thread. People know you run a good ship that sails through most any storm be it a one or a five.
There was a gal last week who shared true brilliance on the Weather Channel when she pointed out the roads under water was caused by water from above
I was so moved I took notes
Maybe, maybe not. You know how NOAA is about letting any storm be a cat 5! Better to change it 20 years later like they did with andrew.Hard to trust people who won’t even maintain the data buoys that we all depend on for wind and sea conditions.
