The Jim Cantore mime reminds me of a thread years ago when a giant tornado was being tracked headed into Nashville. Some poster put up:

Joe Bastardi is also saying northward turn, east of the coast.
Carolinas are likely target.

The GFS software was upgraded in June. It should now be just as good and likely better than the European model. Maybe, but not this time. The European model predicted the turn to the north yesterday while GFS still had the storm going straight into Florida. Now only the hapless Canadian model has it going to Florida.

Not the upper level low referenced by Rayno? The upper low over Cuba seemed to be retrograding a little (to my eye). In contrast a Bermuda high tends to stay put, although it can move a little or strengthen or weaken.

All the runs for a particular storm are compared to determine which is better.

I guess I can go out and remove my hurricane shutters now. It seems it’s not coming to far SW Florida.

We can’t be certain those photos are from Florida, but it is a pretty good bet.

If I’m not mistaken Rayno said that the upper level low in the straights would die off and do a “hand off” to an upper level high which was not known at the time. I guess that is still to happen, don’t know. His timing was Sunday night for the handoff.
