New Yorks elite private-school community is furious over a state proposal to give the city Department of Education oversight of their kids curricula and theyre fighting back, insiders told The Post.
The blanket Albany proposal is primarily intended to ensure that yeshiva students get quality secular instruction, but private-school parents are growing worried as September nears that the shift could open a back door for the government to meddle with their kids educations.

Sort of changes the meaning of “Private” school.
Are yeshiva students able to get into college? Or find jobs?
If so then, there seems to be nothing lacking in their education.
And by the way, can anybody really use the phrase "qualty secular education" with a straight face? Talk about an oxy-moron.
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
This is what the people of NY vote for. Over and over and over again. And then they bitch and moan about it. They bitch and moan about the very environment they themselves created. Then, if/when they get the chance, they move someplace like Florida, Georgia or South/North Carolina and begin the process of destroying those places as well.
This is obviously just an attempt to break down the religious schools; it has nothing to do with education — except that the state must be in control of everything that youth are taught. Or else.
“Sure you can have a private school. Of course, we in the government have to be in charge of it... “
LOL
“Sure you can have a private school. Of course, we in the government have to be in charge of it... “
LOL
If they provided "quality" anything, there would be much less PRIVATE education.
The whole idea is to get away from the Godless socialist and gender bender influences of the state.
Not no. HELL NO!
Tell those idiots to stay far away.
And the State B.O.E. has done such a great job with the public schools. The private schools should welcome the state expertise.
(Do I really need a sarcasm tag?)
Californicators’ top and yet fake educators have been messing around with this bs for a couple of decades.
Some of them call the good results of the private schools, “Cherry Picking” of the good students.
That in turn lowers the standards of the kids left in the public schools aka Day Care for the unwanted.
You can't make this stuff up if you tried. Government meddles with everything, and especially with kids' education. That's why people who can afford it send their kids to private schools.
Scum. How dare they.
Correction “This is what the people of DOWNSTATE NY voted for” (with the exception of a few upstate counties such as Erie, Tompkins, Onondaga counties, etc)
This will not stand. An attempt by the few Liberal Secularist (ie Commies) to push a Marxist spin on all education. It will not work. Liberalisms day is done.
I stand corrected.....You are 100% correct.
Crying shame. I grew up on Long Island. NY is an amazing state. Beaches, mountains, NYC and everything in between. Crying ass shame it has been destroyed by radical Liberals like Cuomo and his ilk. It was an amazing place to grow up.
Absolutely correct. We are modern day serfs.
Bump
Where the Manhattan-Albany Marxists are concerned, the back door is the front door. It's the point.
The government school lobby and the Albany swamp are furious and envious that 1) the private schools most of the best students, while urban public schools get stuck coddling the criminals and the bored; and 2) that religious people whose irresponsible votes tend to bleed away the power of the Progressive Hive raise their kids to think for themselves, and to be independent-minded and God-fearing like their parents. Worst of all, religious people have too many children!
