Red Flag Gun Laws: Connecticut Man's Firearms Seized Because His Son Shared A Meme On Facebook

Due to the recent mass shootings, there is a major push for so-called “red flag” gun laws at both the state and federal levels. These laws are the latest tool for gun control advocates to confiscate guns from people based upon only tips and suspicion. No crime has to be committed to trigger an investigation or confiscation.

Red flag laws violate multiple rights protected by our constitution. The Hill has an excellent article on how red flag laws violate more than the 2nd Amendment, including:

What could possibly go wrong?

You only need an FR screen name to get SWATted.

You don't need to "own" anything.

Because the crushing of all civil liberties is the end game. Gun owners are currently the low-hanging fruit - easier to prioritize as a threat to "public safety". The natural progression is downhill from there. The Stalinists are burning to get us in step with the rest of the world, where mere criticism or disagreement with them will earn you a visit from a SWAT team.

Now you know why they passed these laws.

(To take guns from innocent, non-violent citizens while leaving them in the hands of violent criminals.)

OK, so what is he doing about this?

Legally appealing?

I know it will cost him a fortune in legal fees to get his own stuff back IF the “state” allows it...

Is there a gofundme for his legal fees? Will the 2nd Amendment Foundation, NRA, GOA or somebody helping?

Can we help?

We talk too much; let’s take action!

Ok, playing devil’s advocate here and hoping this is all resolved in a manner that supports the 2nd Amendment....Right down the road from here is a sleepy little town where a parent owned some firearms. An unhinged son used them to murder her, and then head off to massacre a room full of school children, in Sandy Hook. That HAD to weigh heavily on the Police Department’s mind, when they made their decision.

Again I hope this is resolved in a manner that supports our rights as firearm owners but please consider that this incident did not occur in a vacuum. Thank you.

The prez has voiced support for these laws. After he signed the bumpstock ban, I am not surprised. Too bad. I cannot support a gun grabber.

"The dems are promising “Strong protections for due process” Eh? LIARS!"

No person shall be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law. The government cannot deprive first and then apply due process. Red flag laws violate the 2nd, amendment, the 4th amendment and the 5th amendment. In fact red flag laws bypass every protection offered by our Constitution.

I saw again President Trump saying is all in for stronger gun control from congress. He is about to not be President in 2020.

Folks we need to turn up the heat. MR. PRESIDENT, NO GUN CONTROL PERIOD! In fact I think we had better start demanding many gun laws to be repealed.

...”along with hundreds of rounds of ammunition. ...” now, THAT is what probably scared the you-know-what out of the authorities [sic] .....Hell; sounds like a really fun-filled day at the range with “hundreds” of rounds available....
(my bet is that they were mostly .22 rounds anyway....)
