In politics, as of today, do you consider yourself a Republican, a Democrat or an independent?

More people identifying as Independents.
Lots of swings over the years.
Make of it what you will.
People like to identify as independents more and more but generally they’re pretty much as partisan and bandwagon jumping as they ever were. As you can see in modern social media.
Save for later
I’m independent, NOT a member of any party at all. However, the last Dimocrat (spelling intentional) I would’ve voted for was JFK, but I was too young. The Dims have all been too crazy to vote for since then.
As I stated, neither GOP nor Dim, but I’ve consistently voted GOP. After listening to the Dims during this election cycle, I’m pretty sure I will continue to do so.
So from 2004 to 2019:
GOP has gone down 3%, from 32% to 29%,
Dem has gone down 1%, from 28% to 27%, and
Independent has gone 2%, 40% to 38%
And among Independents it is like this:
Conservative Independents are down 3%, from 48% to 45%
Leftist Independenets are down 2%, from 46% to 44%
Seems incredibly stable to me. The only trend I see is all 3 categories have gone down slightly over the past 3 years. Does this men they aren’t registered, or they are registered fringe group like Communist Party or Green Party?
I used to tell everyone I was a Republican. But now I really dont like Republicans, the betrayal party, so I dont want to be one.
But I do like conservatives and I want to be one of those so Im a conservative now. I dont really consider myself an independent. But thats the only box you can check.
I would never vote for a Democrat so Im not really independent I just think Republicans have betrayed us, so I will vote for only the right Republicans Nd hope they are true red white and blue.
When I go and register to vote next year, I’m going to join the TrumpSupporting Party. If not, I’ll go NPA...but I’ll be a CONSERVATIVE!
I identify with the Republicans because I adhere basically to their party platform.
Similarly as an American I am basically in agreement with the constitution.
I identify as a Christian with belief in the total inspiration of scripture.
As a conservative pres because I largely go along with the Westminster Confession of Faith.
I guess written documents mean something to me.
Some dont want to be part of the r party cause of things they have done or failed to do. But independent have been failures too, so I find that inconsistent.
Because of the constant media attacks and sometimes danger at work, I bet there are more R votes among the independents than d votes.
In the beginning there were 1/3 Revolutionaries, 1/3 Torries and 1/3 not my fight. Isn’t it amazing how little has changed?
What happens when all the groups eventually go to zero?
We cut cards to select a President?
I still identify as a Republican.
I am probably more Libertarian than Conservative, but in the end, I always vote GOP.
In the USA, unless you belong to a major coalition party, you have no political influence at all.
I look at Republicans versus Democrats as “Parliamentary government by other means.”
When is the Independent primary being held to choose people for all of the down ballot office races?
