I agree with Trump regarding his assessment of China’s economic condition. But what about ours?
Gateway Pundit my friends.
Bear in mind that we’re doing fine...great in fact. Our economy is on fire, China’s is melting down. More bank and finance officials are fired every week due to corruption and malfeasance and there are credible reports they may have OVER stated their GDP significantly - i.e. lied.
More importantly with respect to the trade war is the China food shortage. We may be paying a little more for China-made goods but they are running out of food to eat. Not only because of the tariffs and their leadership’s stupid bullheadedness, but they are being hit by a devastating insect attack and African Swine Fever that some say could kill as much as 40-50% of their pigs. That’s a problem in a nation where pork is the #1 source of protein.

Implied in all articles is the assumption that China is monolithically in favor of defeating the USA
In addition to old, hard line communits party diehards, I believe there are younger business people that likely want an outcome that will allow their businesses to exist in some changed manner. The young guys have prospered because the old status quo has already changed
I think that there is now internal turbulance between the die hards and the young guys.
Evidence? None. Pure gut feeling
Trump is fighting the “wars” that we should have been fighting for many years, not the ones involving guns and blood.
Guess this means the Democrat party will be spouting off about how Pres. Trump has put us in such a difficult position regarding trade with China. They seem to be doing a better job assuring their not getting elected than the Republicans ever could.
Of course, Trump is right about China. And of course they need us more than we need them. And of course we can win a trade war with them.
What I do worry about though is that the economy is bumpy 12 months from now, we might end up with a President Biden... or even worse.
Keep your foot on their neck President Trump and don’t let up until they clearly recognize their position in the universal language of “OUCH”!
Remember China has Spies everywhere
Good for Trump telling it like it is to the Chinese.
What DJT should do when dealing with Xi is NOT to gloat — hand him his severed head, courteously.
Think Schwyn will move its manufacturing back to Chicago ?
Get ‘er done Mr President & God Bless you! The silent majority is supporting you!
Gordan Chang: (China expert Gordon Chang praises Trump's tariffs: 'The Chinese are now doing things which smell desperate')
You can take what These two China experts tell us to the bank...all other opinions are just that, opinions. America Trade has been bullied by past Dictators and now this Xi Jinping is doing the same thing as all the others. Why do we let a Communist Country bully America...ans: our elected leaders are too timid to stand up to the corrupt leaders of Communism. President Trump can't be bullied and China knows it.....stand firm President Trump, America has your back.
For years Western leaders have done nothing but negotiate into weak positions, and they all made money doing so.
Fair business deals or pay the price.
In before the Chinese-GDP-will-pass-ours" folks.
The overall point of the article is probably correct, but the above is nonsense. Fifty years ago was 1969, about the middle of the war in Vietnam and the USSR was providing significant support to the North. We were never "always giving Russia what they wanted".
The Cold War was all about isolating the USSR and not giving them what they wanted, and allowing little if any trade with them. The article is correct in that past US presidents gave China what they wanted after the Nixon/Kissinger so-called "opening of China".
I'm amazed to think that anyone would think the US gave the USSR whatever they wanted and never stood up to them.
We can’t afford to repay $22 trillion in national debt.
People are going to notice a multi-trillion dollar loss, even if carefully disguised as “low inflation”.
They’ll get by fine without selling stuff to us.
