I’ve been doing some reading about China in the gunboat diplomacy era of the 19th and early 20th centuries and one thing that stands out in bold relief is that the Western idea of “keeping one’s word” is utterly alien to the Chinese.
American diplomats, traders, and naval officers of that era tended to prefer dealing with the Japanese — their cities were clean, the people were orderly, and agreements were generally honored. Of course, we know how badly that turned out — and then turned good again.
The Japanese may be tough competitors but I’ve never viewed them as coming from a culture that places no stigma on lying and cheating in business deals.
Those are my impressions. I am taking an increasingly dim view of Asian immigration — I don’t care how brilliant their children are in school, they vote for Democrats, against their own interests. American isn’t Shanghai or Mumbai. Let them prosper in their own countries — they don’t belong in a Western culture.

They are breaking agreements with South China Sea. They have softly annexed 2 Reef areas.
And they didn’t even have valid claims on them, though they were disputed. International Court ruled for Philippines and they ignored.
Steal intellectual property...steal military secrets.

I didn’t say the campaign stuff, I said Trump branded products and that includes a hell of a lot more than campaign stuff.

As leader of the country and Commander in Chief, Trump gave a clear, clarion call to arms to Americans regarding China’s efforts to harm theUSA.
