Founder of Overstock.com resigns, reveals his role in FBI surveillance of presidential campaigns
American Thinker ^ | 08/23/2019 | Thomas Lifson

In a pair of jaw-dropping interviews yesterday following his resignation from the company that he founded twenty years ago, Patrick Byrne revealed his collaboration with the FBI as an informant, including involvement in surveillance of the presidential campaigns including multiple Republicans … and of the Hillary Clinton campaign, too. In both interviews he fingered Peter Strzok as the person responsible for sending the “men in black” from the FBI who visited him, but in the second, he stated that higher ups, whom he would only identify as “X, Y, and X” – people whose names you would know, directed the program.

First, he spoke for over 16 minutes with David Asman and his Bulls and Bears panelists on Fox Business:

Following that, he went on Fox News for 22 and a half minutes to speak with Martha McCallum. The network dropped its commercials to let him speak without interruption.

Although I rarely urge readers to watch long videos, and even though Byrne does ramble and repeat himself, these videos are utterly remarkable. I have to assume that a man who built a large, successful company is not a total flake. Byrne appeared to me to be under incredible stress – understandable because he just terminated his career at the company he built, and because he states that he received threats that he would be "ground into dust" if he spoke up.

The FBN interview is somewhat confrontational, particularly with questions by panelist Jonathan Honig, and more focused on his company’s stock price. The FNC interview spends a lot of time on his admitted relationship with Maria Butina, currently imprisoned for being an unregistered foreign agent (of Russia), with whom bachelor Byrne had an affair -- he says, at the behest of the FBI.

I think that is the way he operates — with some truth. How much is embellishment we’ll probably never know. But his mannerisms, for me, give him away almost as somebody without a core. And I’m basing this impression, in part, on my friend. In other areas in his life, my friend had no moral core. If there is no core then maybe that is why the FBI wanted Byrne — he is convincing and charming like a sociopath is. I just remember my fiend as a moth going towards the flame to be burnt up — there was never a core that said this was wrong or will hurt you.

“Another interesting thing about Bryne is his invoking Warren Buffet’s name and essentially bringing him into the story. It would seem that Buffet would have tried to immediately distance himself from this guy if he thought that Byrne was a crackpot.”

My thought exactly. We’ll see if Buffet is confronted with this over he next few days. Then again, if the story doesn’t get any legs, Buffet will let it die.

I don’t remember the story all that well, but I believe he was instrumental in bringing big Wall Street names to justice who were trying to short his company’s stock out of existence. He seem strange, but is really quite intelligent. My daughter almost went to work for one of his blockchain companies so I think he is legit.

While some of Berne’s story may reflect his personal idiosyncrasies and inflated sense of self there is likely some truth in the core of what he is saying. There can be no doubt about the extent of the power grab by the Deep State and their willingness to defy our laws to do it. I think the nation will be shocked when the truth finally comes out.

Bear in mind that the entire spectacle of Spygate is so completely bizarre that at this point almost anything is possible. Its like we’re living is some type of twilight zone. The strange and weird things that we have learned about that went on inside our government over the past several years simply defies the imagination and would never qualify as a believable plot for a work of fiction.

So ... if I followed his interview last night correctly -

He was recruited by the “black suits” to become friendly with the Russian spy so he could introduce her clandestinely into top Republican party circles. She would then be used later on as part of the frame of President Trump to prove Russian collusion. But once he realized this and when Barr came onboard as AG, he went to them with the story.

He additionally suggested the “black suits” were in the process of framing Hillary Clinton. Although he didn’t mention how, there are quite a few obvious choices: the email scandal; Clinton Fountain; Epstein, etc. etc.

Am I hearing him correctly? Please feel free to correct if I missed it.

You have the gist of it. He’s less than clear on the details but, assuming what he says is true, he was recruited to facilitate/legitimize her access to powerful people.

It seems to me that the overall plot was two fold: the Russian collusion angle and a broader effort to engage in blackmail in order to control compromised politicians.

Again, he’s only telling (and/or possible embellishing) key parts of the whole story. Its still not clear yet who exactly was pulling strings and directing the cabal. To me, understanding how this thing was managed/controlled is going to be truly explosive stuff.

Only way to find out is to indict Comey, McCabe, Brennan, etc., and then see who they roll over on. We all know Obama sits at the top.

Well 3 things regarding - the powers that be -

1.) They are not that smart,
2.) Both Reagan and Trump seriously messed up their plans,
3.) God can override TPTB usually transparently to most.

I do not know what to think about Peter Byrne.

I do know what to think about Bill Barr: I do not trust a man who betrayed the memory of Vicki Weaver, and defended her assassin pro bono, and a man who said that he saw “nothing” to dissuade him on the verdict of suicide in the bizarre Epstein saga.

Nothing: not, nothing substantial; not, nothing persuasive; just, nothing.

Multiple broken cervical vertebrae, and a broken hyoid bone are, I am expected to accept, nothing.

I say, that makes ex-CIA Bill Barr a bald-faced liar.
