What if officially the tariffs are technically there but no enforcement. I said option 2 for a reason. Option 2 can have the hell gamed out of it and it will. If there is one thing Eurocrats are great at it is cheating for personal benefit.
Those goods are not going to flood the UK, rather they are going to transit the UK for the US market. US tariffs on the EU are coming. Mark my words. Like I said a “NAFTA” sucking sound. Parts manufacturing will stay on the continent but putting those parts together will move to the UK to circumvent US tariffs.
In addition, UK stuff will move into the EU untariffed via Ireland. Assembly in Ireland.
It is part of the plan. The EU will just become a supply chain. Supply chains can be moved.
If the tariffs are technically there but no enforcement then still a WTO case and the UK to drop tariffs on goods from all countries.
” rather they are going to transit the UK for the US market.” —> that’s only if the US signs a deal with the UK on those goods and that’s only if those goods meet US standards.
“UK stuff will move into the EU un tariffed via Ireland” — there are few UK goods made in the UK - it’s a services economy primarily. And most UK goods are dependent on the extensive supply chain connections with Western europe. they won’t be sending much the other way.
“If there is one thing Eurocrats are great at it is cheating for personal benefit.” —> any proof for this?
