The Justice Department submitted a legal brief to the Supreme Court Monday that stated President Trump acted lawfully when he decided to end the Obama-era immigration program known as DACA in September of 2017, according to a new report.
The Department of Homeland Security, correctly, and at a minimum reasonably, concluded that DACA is unlawful, Justice Department lawyers wrote in a brief submitted to the Supreme Court late Monday.
The Supreme Court will begin to hear arguments in November. A ruling is expected in the presidential election year, putting the high court at the center of one of the most politically charged issues of debates. A decision in favor of Trump would allow for the president to deport more than one million young adults residing in the U.S. under DACA protection.

Otherwise, the Supreme Court will decide (likely to scrap DACA), and no deals will be possible in an election year.
Executive order rescinding an executive order seems like a no- brainer.
If the court makes DACA the law of the land, Trump should heed that and start making his own laws too.
Roberts will save DACA. I have no doubt.
It's a start anyway.
One EO giveth one EO taketh away.

The Kenyanesian Usurper’s decision to create DACA was illegal.
It has no basis in law.
Then again, neither did the usurpation.
You don’t happen to have a link to the filing?
I hate that news sites do not provide a link to the substance of their article. Some people might want to read the filing and not their interpretation of the filing.
Thanks for posting.
I thought they just signed a two year budget deal?
Yep that’s what Epstein’s murderers will tell him to do:-)
If the “supreme court” does not allow the end of DACA, it will be interesting to read the creative writing and tortured arguments for why a Rat president can create, out of thin air, a government program (and therefore that was legal), but a Pub president cannot end it. I am confident that they will add some fantasy language about why that newly created process can never stand, if the roles are reversed.

“I thought they just signed a two year budget deal?”
The budget deal was a high level framework between the senior leadership on both sides, that laid out some principles they agreed to abide by, and a total target number.
The individual appropriation bills must still be finalized and passed individually.
The devil is in the details, and some will want to renege on their assurances, insert some poison pills, or do some grandstanding.
Thank you! Now to read the arguments.
Of course the decision to end DACA was lawful, since the original E.O. establishing DACA was not lawful.
In a sane world it would be.
But remember: half the US electorate is insane.
I thought DACA expired. Trump did not renew.
I wonder how John Roberts will vote.
