They are old maids in waiting (even if they are in they 30s and declining partners/relationships). They compensate with affection from obidient pets.
I’ve known some (who were that way for decades). It is a thing.
And when they make up voices for their cats and dress them for non-costume events it is a bit of crazy.

Mine know their names and sometimes will do what they are told but obedient they are not.

As someone who has owned cats all my life I can tell you that there is no such animal as an “obedient cat”-they will only obey when they choose to-usually at mealtime when their owner puts their bowl down and says “come get your dinner, kitty”-any other time, you can forget obedience...

Wow, you describe dog owners pretty well.
"Obedient pets" and "cats" generally don't mix.
And YOU try to put on cutesy costumes for your cats to participate in some social events outside your house.
