The left side of her conference, run by the so-called “Squad” of socialist Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) is ascendant as Pelosi’s top deputies–several committee chairs–face primary challenges similar to one Ocasio-Cortez used to wipe out longtime Pelosi ally, former Rep. Joseph Crowley (D-NY) on her path to power.
In fact, at least seven of Pelosi’s top confidantes–committee chairs–potentiallly face the same fate as Crowley, as primary challengers have announced campaigns against them.
One powerful Pelosi deputy who faces a primary, Rep. Nita Lowey (D-NY)–the chairwoman of the House Appropriations Committee–has not faced an internal party challenge since 1988.

The year was 1988. Def Leppard topped the charts and stonewashed jeans were all the rage. It was also the last time powerful House Appropriations Chairwoman Nita M. Lowey faced a primary challenge. That’s all changed now with the decision by Mondaire Jones, a former Obama administration Justice Department staffer and attorney for Westchester County’s Law Department, to challenge Lowey in next June’s primary. The 32-year-old political novice plans to take on the New York Democratic incumbent over her positions on issues ranging from climate change to student debt forgiveness to oversight of the Trump administration.

This is terrible for the country. We’re witnessing the takeover of the Democrat party by socialists/communists. This is not going to end well for America unless we stop the brainwashing of kids in schools.
I agree. This is a very bad thing to happen to America. So called “right wing extremists” would never be allowed to take over the republican party. It would never happen. But no problem for the democrat party to be taken over by the fringe.
I am getting to the point where I think it will be a good wake up call if the USA gets a taste of socialism. Just like with children you tell them the stove is hot do not touch and eventually they touch it and get burned. As long as they don’t get scarred for life then they learn to stay away from it.
The democrats are now in dangerous territory. Look at all those liberal run cities and the disaster that they have become. Feces everywhere, rodent infestations and murders just about on the hour. That’s what people want then they can have at it. I am really tired of liberals talking about socialism and they know it does not work, but it sounds good on paper.
That and Pelosi’s processing issues will give her the vapors.
To implement Socialism the individual must surrender their freedoms to the government. Once surrendered, Freedoms will not be returned
Yes, I agree. When will the Department of Education put a stop to this nonsense. They can easily put stop to this nonsense - especially at the college level. Betsy DeVos has been invisible since taking over the Department.
