Only a true moron would get into a tank battle in Asia. Are you guys morons? No, I didn’t think so.
A battle with China would exist of some missiles hitting their ports and ships. If it went beyond that, it would go nuclear pretty darned fast. There is no way, logistically, to invade China. And why would we? That makes no sense.
Wars are not won with tactics. They are won with logistics.
China has the problem that plagued the Soviets; the obsession with not failing. Americans test all the time and fail. When we fail, we keep making changes and keep testing.
In the Communist world, failing means you get replaced or sent to the gulag. So there is a propensity to not test something if you think it could fail.
So when the Chinese launch missiles at us, they aren’t certain they are going to work.
In the post you reference, the topic was quality of weapons production not determining the victor in a conflict, not just tanks - in response to someone else’s post about how all Chinese and Russian rifles they’ve seen not being stellar examples of machining and finishing. If China makes a thousand ‘good enough’ but sloppily built missiles for every one we have and throws them at a CBG, we have some pretty big problems.
