Yes I’m well aware of it. If a person with downs is born there it’s by the Grace of God. So sad.
I figured you’d know, but the screwed up priorities evident in this story vs this de facto eugenics program in Iceland is stunning (and yes, I know the US abortion rate for such babies is 60%+ so we’re not that great either). I’m certain a special needs child is even more of a challenge than your average child. But this story is just, as you note, saddening.
Let’s try to by Iceland also.
Someone needs to tell these moonbats that their island? continent? was called GREENLAND for a reason!
How bout due to the huge volcanoes and hot springs that the island boasts?
What, you lost another glacier?
What do you want us to do?
Iceland ought to be hauled before the world court for genocide against handicapped. Taking a cue from their Germanic brethren further south. And these Euro-weenies sicken me with their phoney-@$$ virtue signaling.
Eh, I wonder how many of these glaciers were around when the last interglacial period reached its temperature maximum?
Do not Cross!
Well, I dont disagree, but did you watch the short video?
It provides the context. Your response might be a little different if you did...
Makes me think the GSM cold weather is coming. God seems to have a sense of humor when people get too full of themselves.
Here in SW Ohio (Dayton), we were also covered by a 2-mile thick glacier.
That’s 100% proof of globull warming...or something.
Believe it or not
When the Vikings came to this remote island in the North Atlantic Ocean the land was extensively forested. Around 1100 years ago the climate was warmer than it is now, and the glaciers were smaller than they are at the present time, even though there has been accelerating melting of the Icelandic glaciers for many decades. In even older times those glaciers were far smaller, the remains of a massive 3000-year-old forest have been discovered under Breiðamerkurjökull, a glacier tongue of Vatnajökull. So, there is now evidence that Iceland was even more heavily forested in older pre-settlement times than people had thought. Fossils, place names, the remnants of charcoal and climate modeling suggest that 25% to 40% of Iceland was forested when the Vikings came. In the light of new evidence, this figure should be raised considerably higher when referring to preceding millenniums.

How about a plaque memorializing the trees that once grew in Iceland, but were all cut down by their Norse ancestors.
New Glacier Forming in California?
Within the Hope Valley as of two days ago, there was rumored to be a canyon with a remaining 40 foot depth of snow. Hope Valley is near Kirkwood Ski resort in California.
