last year, Louisiana was the only state in the nation to lose jobs...

That should be a good point to drive home for the R running against him.

This guy sounds like a fustercluck of the highest degree.

One hopes Ralph Abraham wins. The dems have gotten a goofball to run also as a Republican to hopefully split the vote and for Edwards to get more votes than the two gopers. Probably not but there will probably be a run off. Edwards has worked hard to reward the standard dem constituencies, especially teachers. Much of the woe is me in this article is standard boiler plate on how bad Louisiana sucks. The truth is the blackamoors are like an anchor pulling the state down, It will make no difference if a goper wins, the culture of low or no expectations and perpetual loserness will remain intact. You have to live here a while to pick up on the very curious local culture created by a unique set of historical experiences. No politician of any party is going to reverse the effect of 300 years of paternalistic schemes of governance. Me, I am very glad to be here and not in NE Yankeeland.

I was disappointed the author didn’t identify who Edwards’ opponent might be.

In 2008 when Obama became president, Arkansas had

Dem governor
2 Dem US Senators
3 Dems and 1 Repub US House Reps
Dem controlled state House and Senate and most state offices

When Obama left in 2016, Arkansas had

Repub governor
2 Repub US Senators
4 Repub US House Reps
Repub controlled state House and Senate and most state offices

Missouri is going through a similar transition based on recent elections.

RINOs sabotaged David Vitter when he ran in 2015. He ought to be the Governor now instead of Edwards.
