The Effects of Trump’s Heightened Border Security Are Coming to Fruition

President Donald J. Trump and his administration are starting to rack up some wins in the way of border security, one of his hallmark issues during the 2016 election cycle.

A little over a week ago, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) swarmed seven separate food processing plants in Mississippi, arresting nearly 700 illegal aliens. The reverberations of that operation were felt in Georgia, where illegal aliens abandoned their posts at food processing plants after it was rumored that ICE would be raiding their workplaces.

The raids never took place, but it appears that the illegal alien community is taking the Trump administration seriously on the issue – something that has been uncommon for decades in the United States, as our border security policy has been the world’s laughingstock.

Meanwhile, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) ramped up its work in South Florida.

“In the past few weeks, Customs and Border Patrol officials have been spotted by commuters at Greyhound bus stations across Miami-Dade and Broward counties, asking riders on board, or in the process of boarding a bus, for proof of legal status,” according to an MSN report.

This is a stark contrast to the Obama administration’s policy of waving illegal aliens through the open borders, and busing them to whichever city they chose – all on the taxpayer dime.

CBP confirmed that it has been on the lookout for illegal aliens.

“U.S. Border Patrol has been performing enforcement actions away from the immediate border in direct support of border enforcement efforts and as a means of preventing trafficking, smuggling and other criminal organizations from exploiting our public and private transportation infrastructure to travel to the interior of the United States,” the organization said. “Agents in Florida enforce immigration law while working closely with local, state and federal...

Wow.

Treating illegals like...illegals.

Trump HAS to win in 2020...

and then we’ll take it from there. I fear the short term memory too many Americans have.

I’m disappointed that the numbers are only in the hundreds and not tens of thousands daily, but it’s still better than making that illegal problem even bigger. Deport them from work. Deport them from welfare offices. Deport them from schools. Deport them all. No exceptions.

Mr. President, Keep the pressure on. Never become complacent after a few wins.

ICE has been doing that.

I’m not sure if you’re being serious or not but with an absurd name like reasonisfaith it wouldn’t matter much.

Reason is NOT faith.

It’s the OPPOSITE of faith.

And people who actually think like that are religious zealots that scare me.

I’m not worried about next year. I’m more worried about 2024 and beyond. Who in the GOP will have the stones to continue the fight against illegal immigration. Certainly not Mike Pence. I think we have to go outside of DC again. Maybe Matt Bevin or Ron DeSantis are possibilities. Way too early to speculate, but we know the NeverTrumper RINOS will be trying to sneak a few Trojan Horse candidates into the 2024 race, but I think the GOP electorate has gotten wise to them so I don’t think their errand boys like John Kasich or Ben Sasse would be able to gain any traction.

The national news ran lots of stories featuring crying mothers and children of those illegals arrested. Even with the sound on my TV off, I could get the gist of the story: How could we be so cruel to these poor, poor families trying to eke out a living?

Left unsaid, Americans should have had those jobs.

Americans should have had those jobs. Americans should have had schools that were not overcrowded and burdened with attempting to teach in dozens of languages. Americans should have had social services that focused on meeting the needs of real Americans who are here legally. Instead, we have totalitarian globalists who see destroying the American dream as their path to absolute power.

Faith and reason are like two wings of a bird. Too much of one or the other, the bird cannot fly.

Faith and Reason working together, one can soar to great heights.

God Bless.

If the economy slows, this will be an even greater winning political strategy.

Jobs for Americans, not for illegal aliens.

Leave the moms and children in Mexico. Milk the illegals for 60 hours a week for 6 months. No overtime pay. We have that at wineries in Calif.

Raiding these plants will cause other plant owners AND the illegals to make some moves. I would negotiate fine with the plant owners - an immediate job fair and hiring of Americans can lessen the fine, but if they’re caught hiring illegals again, fines will be doubled. Put them on a watch list.

Agreed. Trump has made a lot of noise without enforcing laws already on the books that could reverse a lot of the 40 million-strong illegal invasion we have on our hands. And now that he is up for reelection he has to makre some moves as if he really is going to do better on this. But he is findraising now with Rick Cheney—the Swamp has him tamed for their proposed, unfortunately.

President Trump is more on our side than the other side, but I would still like to see far more from him. I know he has to overcome the Deep State and a treasonous effort to overturn our 2016 election, and that is hard to do when much of FedGov is an anti-American behemoth, but it would still be nice to see a big win on this most important of all battles.

President Eisenhower’s Operation Wetback rounded up only a few hundred at a time and eventually rounded several tens of thousands but in the process there were 3 million that hightailed it across the border ahead of the raids.

In other words, rounding up 5 % or so will cause 90% to run for it.

Problem we have today that wasn’t existing in the Eisenhower Era is the presence of Sanctuary Cities and States. But President Trump is working and winning on that issue.

We just need to round up enough of these criminals to reach a tipping point. I don’t believe we actually have to deport 12 million of them, but I believe looking like we are capable of doing that (even the criminals who have been here illegally for more than two years) will scare the rest (far more than 12 million) into obeying the law and going to their real homes.
