ICE is blasting the Mecklenburg County Sheriff for releasing a rape suspect in Charlotte. ICE re-arrested the suspect
In August 2019 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Oscar Pacheco-Leonardo, 33, in Charlotte, NC. Oscar is a Honduran national, and illegally present in the United States. Oscar is accused of raping a child.
Oscar was originally arrested by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department for First Degree Rape and two counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child on June 14, 2019. ICE issued a detainer June 15 on Oscar, but the detainer was not honored by the Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden, and Oscar was instead released from Mecklenburg County custody on June 16 according to ICE.

If a citizen committed these crimes they wouldn’t be released (I don’t think), why release these criminals?

WHY were these aliens released from custody within months for charges of child rape, attempted strangulation, etc? Did they get out on low bail??? And of course, ICE wasn’t notified...

They WOULD NOT be released if they were a flight risk. They might be otherwise released if it’s clear to the judge that they have a lot more to lose by running than staying put...but maybe not, even in that case.
An Illegal, is by definition, a flight risk. Releasing a person like that REQUIRES that the judge be brought up on charges. The fact that we don’t only shows how dysfunctional this country has become.
Every article that references Garry McFadden should preface it with “reality tv star Garry McFadden.” Thought he looked familiar. He has a show on Discovery ID, IIRC, “ I’m Homicide. “ Obviously Charlotte Mecklenburg should have made Joe Kenda their police chief if they’re trolling Discovery ID for candidates!
