Senate Democrats Will Attempt to Nullify Trump’s Expansion of Short-Term Health Plans

enate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and other Senate Democrats will attempt to force a vote in September that would nullify President Donald Trump’s expansion of short-term health insurance plans, which serve as a less expensive alternative to Affordable Care Act (ACA) plans. Senate Democrats unveiled plans earlier this summer to force a vote on a resolution, in accordance with the Congressional Review Act (CRA), that would allow Democrats to overturn Trump’s expansion of short-term health insurance plans, which would enable health insurance companies to offer plans that cost less than ACA plans, also known as Obamacare.

Under the CRA, Congress can nullify recent executive rules through a simple majority in both chambers of Congress. Earlier in July, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) ruled that the Trump administration’s guidance on short-term plans could be considered a rule and therefore could be repealed under the CRA.

Democrats want to eliminate Trump’s expansion of short-term plans, believing that they serve as “junk” plans and could undermine Obamacare’s viability.

However, by trying to force a vote on a CRA that would eliminate short-term health insurance plans, Democrats could jeopardize health insurance coverage for potentially many Americans who, unable to afford Obamacare plans, have found refuge through short-term plans.

“What we’re talking about today is granting waivers to states to offer junk insurance plans,” said Schumer in July. “These plans let the insurance companies get away with everything, even murder, figuratively speaking.”

Seriously Schumer

SCREW YOU!!

That is less money going towards his graft and corruption, both Public and Private and Chuck has to milk the American citizen for every cent.

That is what the ruling class view you as, just a Pinata you break open and grab all the goodies before anyone else, run off after and toss the husk in the trash.

Disgusting.

Anything to hurt the American people.

They do anything they can to put a boot on our neck to have control of everything. How anyone, other than the dependent class, supports these people is beyond me.

Schumer doesn't give a sh!t about Americans laboring under the burden of exorbitant medical insurance premiums.

His puppet masters in the insurance industry are pushing him down this road because they can't have the industry undermined by low-cost alternatives.

The Affordable Care Act birthed the biggest collection of JUNK insurance plans ever created.

“...Congress can nullify recent executive rules through a simple majority in both chambers of Congress.”

Does Shumer have the votes? Which Republican senator dares vote to nullify, and why?

What PDJT ‘needs’ to do is sign an EO making ‘notsoAffordable’ Health Care cover ALL...NO more exemptions for anyone or group.

Sure they will ‘fight’ it tooth and nail BUT at least he will be able to get it COMPLETELY in the open and ‘they’ will have to address it.

Do the ‘little people’ know of the Unions/Govt employees and there ‘exemptions’ while their personal health insurance tripled and the ‘new plan’ is basically worthless to all?

LET us get a look at that ‘slush fund’ for pols to pay off harassment suits....LET THE CHIPS FALL WHERE THEY MAY,

If it isn’t/wasn’t there, so say...if it is/was PUBLISH the recipients....

I’d love to see Trump close the free healthcare facility for Senators and Congress.

My wife and I had-deductible individual plans ($5,000)that were actually pretty good. We got grandfathered in because Obamacare banned any sales of that policy and we were fortunate enough to be on that until we were eligible for Medicare.

Of course because we were not on an Obamacare policy we lost coverage for abortions and sex change operations. But we toughed it out.
