That was my initial response. That temperature can flip genetics seems pretty far-fetched. Why didn’t they just jump on the bandwagon and blame Trump, like they do about everything else?
Maybe the turtles WANTED to change.

This is silly, clearly the male turtles are identifying as females to get ahead in their ecosystem. What pronoun can be used for this?
All I can say is rain rain go away. First August in history of Florida where it has railed constantly everyday in August for 24/7. We are in a very odd weather cycle for sure all over the country and much of the world.
Maybe it’s all the birth control pills that are being used in our world today.

Yeah, that’s right: Trump’s policies are promoting climate change, climate change is making turtles transgender, and transgender is good! What’s not to like?

I was issued a citation for having a small battery powered light shining on an American flag on my balcony. (Volusia County).
Isn’t that a good thing? Fewer male turtles getting violent or playing video games and all.
If there are infact more females, then darwinian adaptation points to more females, more eggs, more turtles.
The decline can be attributed to the primary turtle lover complaint of light pollution. Light pollution is said to inhibit female turtles coming on beaches to lay eggs. I have seen no real evidence beyond vague reference to studies that lights inhibit egg laying.
Any way, rush has his house on the beach and is required by law to reduce or curtail lights during egg laying season.
The root cause is lights, not climate change
