Guards at the jail where Jeffrey Epstein is believed to have killed himself last weekend are suspected of falsifying log entries to show they were checking on inmates in his unit every 30 minutes when they were in fact not, according to The Associated Press.
A person familiar with the investigation into Epsteins death told the AP surveillance video reviewed after the incident showed guards never made some of the checks they noted in a log.
Epstein was found dead early Saturday morning at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City while he awaited trial on charges he sexually trafficked underage girls.
The news comes after the Justice Department announced it ordered the Bureau of Prisons to temporarily reassign the warden at the Manhattan federal prison place two staff members assigned to Epsteins unit on administrative leave.
I was appalled indeed, the entire department was and, frankly, angry to learn of the MCCs failure to adequately secure this prisoner. We are now learning of serious irregularities at this facility that are deeply concerning and that demand a thorough investigation, Attorney General William Barr said Monday morning.
We will get to the bottom of what happened at the MCC and we will hold people accountable for this failure.
Officials are facing pressure to determine why Epstein, who had been placed on suicide watch back in late July after reportedly being found with marks on his neck, was not being closely monitored.
Several reports have surfaced describing the federal jail as being short-staffed and saying protocols were not followed by the prisons employees.

No! Really? I’m shocked. Shocked. This is like the script of a Hollywood thriller. Does the bad guy get away with it in the end?
Sounds like a relatively easy scheme to pull off. However, being involved in something like that takes big balls. Get caught and you may also be expected to die.
Wait a second...I thought his lawyers requested that he be taken off of suicide watch.

Sources told ABC News that Epstein had to undergo multiple psychiatric evaluations before officials decided to take him off suicide watch.
Can you feel my confusion? Everybody, including The Hill, already seem to know why he was not being closely monitored. Or have they forgotten their own reporting?
I posted this on another thread; fits here too:
Whats the odds that 2 guards both simultaneously fall asleep for the same 3 hours each, hmmm? Were they both sitting in chairs right next to each other, or sleeping on cots somewhere? Were they both together, or were they simultaneously falling asleep in 2 different locations from each other? Were either of them or both, located very near Jeffrey Epsteins cell, or were they far far away from it? And did they both wake up simultaneously in order to go to Epsteins cell to find his dead body?
No other guard in the halls of the prison in the area near Epsteins cell wandered past these 2 guards, or saw 1 much less 2 sleeping officers who were supposed to be working, and shake them awake? Did the 2 guards not have to check in, or make a call by cell phone to the main desk, at any time during the 3 hours they were supposed to be working and awake?
Did any staff member ever give these 2 guards a phone call to check up on them? Are there no checks and balances on guards knowing it is the middle of the night and that they might just fall asleep? Or were the staff at the main desk sleeping for those same 3 hours too? So many questions, so little time. Answers needed, as this whole episode stinks to high heaven.
Once upon a time, guards doing patrols had to turn keys in various locations along their assigned route, each recording the time the key was turned.
We don’t have something similar in prisons today, using maybe a near-field key fob?

Today while the medical examiner was on a lunch break, Jeff Epstein cremated himself.
Wonder how much of a delay they caused.
Look at the tapes of the hall for this. Should be only a minute between them finding him and making a call.
El Chapo has been there how long and has not escaped???
Wouldn't it be funny if there were 18 1/2 minutes missing.
El Chapo was 3 cells away from him.until a few days before Epstein died..so this was not your everyday prison area.
First they tried turning the power off, but they missed by a few blocks and inconvenienced a bunch of libs in NYC. Then they tried to off him and say he was suicidal. I guess third times a charm.
Fredo was in charge of this?
Did the clintons want him dead? If so, that explains everything.
Ask yourself how it is that the MCC can prevent Epstein’s murder or suicide the first time, and then be so massively incompetent as to fail less than 2 weeks later. Nope. Not buying it.
And now the Judge in charge of the Epstein case mysteriously dies.
1) Maintain the suicide narrative.
2) Muddy the waters around #1
