Several high-profile Senate Democrats warned the Supreme Court in pointed terms this week that it could face a fundamental restructuring if justices do not take steps to "heal" the court in the near future.
The ominous and unusual warning was delivered as part of a brief filed Monday in a case related to a New York City gun law. Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, Richard Durbin, D-Ill., and Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., referenced rulings by the court's conservative majority in claiming it is suffering from some sort of affliction which must be remedied.
"The Supreme Court is not well. And the people know it," the brief said. "Perhaps the Court can heal itself before the public demands it be 'restructured in order to reduce the influence of politics.'"
The last part was quoting language from a Quinnipiac University poll, in which 51 percent favored such restructuring. In the same poll, 55 percent believed the Supreme Court was "motivated by politics" more than by the law.
Dramatic changes to the Supreme Court have been proposed by several Democrats vying for their party's 2020 presidential nomination, with "court-packing" being a common -- though highly controversial -- suggestion. Increasing the number of justices on the court would allow the president to shift the balance on the bench by loading up justices of his or her preference.

Would be fun to see if the existing Supreme Court would permit a blatantly political move to add justices to make it another 9th Circuit.
My bet is that they’ll simply rule the move as ‘unconstitutional’, and dispense with that crap.
And the irony is they are using political pressure to “reduce the political influence” they claim, all because they don’t like the way the Court has ruled.

I use to discount a civil war, but it looks like it is coming. When the democrats refuse to accept the will of the people and criminalize their opposition, then war is inevitable.
Boo-hoo. The Left has used the SCOTUS to manufacture a right for women to kill 60,000,000 babies and a right to dismantle the family structure of civilization by finding a right of homosexuals to “marry.”
It is way past time for conservatives to try to salvage the rights granted to us by our Creator from the rapacious maw of the Left. The Second Amendment MUST be fought for to heal our damaged Constitution.
How does any sane person vote for these morons, should I say, petulant children that aren’t getting their way? If you’re a legitimate, hard core Leftist and think these people will start giving you free everything, like manna from Heaven, I kind of get it. You should be smart enough to know that isn’t going to happen, but, to each their own.
But, if you’re just a run o’ the mill, Democrat or Left-Leaning Centrist/Independent, and you vote/support these people, just because they aren’t the President or because of your “passionate” disagreement with the President, you need to have your head examined.
The Left/Dem’s/these Clowns have been conditioned for decades because so many things have gone their way. Now they get a little pushback and the world is coming to an end.
And when it comes down to it, IMHO, it can all be narrowed down to two things: The President not rolling over for China and other countries in trade negotiations and illegal aliens/refugees/immigration policies, which will cause the Dem’s to lose support in the voting booth.

We are not ruled by Judges and were never ever intended to be- except by the CONSENT of the governed through representatives. The NUREMBURG LAWS FIVE- may represent what they say is the consent of their constuencies but this is NOT the entire US. They must be shut down! Constitution is all over this.

The President should announce that he “hears” them about the need to expand the Court and attempt to do it under his presidency. Then they will have to be on record as opposing it and, even though it is obvious, it will be shown to be an obviously political influenced move.
