Here’s the deal. Everyone in gov’t wanted Epstein dead.
For his defense he was going to say he was a CIA operative and was used to setup people with compromising photos. The deep state would then use that leverage against them to extract favors later.
There are two camps in gov’t now that he’s dead.
1) Wants to get some more of the pervs exposed. Now that Epstein was murdered (or allowed to kill himself) the deep state doesn’t have to worry about their secret blackmail plan to be revealed.
2) Those that want to continue to cover up for the pervs and hopefully get more power from it.
I suspect Bob Barr is in group 1. He’s glad Epstein is dead because he couldn’t allow a trial to occur and expose the CIA for blackmailing politicians. This may go back as far as first Bush President. Many of his friends will get hurt in that. But he does want to nail the pervs.
And the Deep State remains firmly in the control of the FBI.
