We’re old enough to remember the LiveStrong days when cyclist Lance Armstrong was an American hero. But as they say, never meet your heroes, and never follow them on Twitter either. Is this supposed to be virtue signaling or a humblebrag?
Meh, a cheater, but there’s more:
He was suing the living sh*t out of a pile of guys ever breathing a single word about what he had long been doing.
Everyone already knows he cheated but far fewer realize what a consummate and aggressive, domineering JERK he is.
I actually feel bad for Armstrong. Everybody was doing enhancement drugs so he just turned it into a science. I have all of his wins on DVD, and some of the stuff he did while in the saddle did seem almost “too” superhuman, but still. If they were all doing it...
I would like to think that the organizers have actually clamped down on it, though.
Greg Lemond wasn’t “doing it” and he won the Tour three times. Cadel Evans wasn’t “doing it” and he won twice. I was an Armstrong fan as well; he brought a lot of excitement to the sport and he did good for cancer. But no longer; he turns out to have been a cheap, bullying poseur, a liar, a cheat and he became quite wealthy “doing it”. But he’s not a seven time Tour champion; there is no declared winner for those years; kind of like Venice where each duke has a portrait in the Grand Hall - one has been covered with a drape for 500 years bc he disgraced Venice. There is no portrait of Armstrong at the Tour de France.

Good for Mike Pence to be out riding... Did not know he bike riding.... As for Vance, good for him to still be riding for fun. He has no reason to ride anymore.
We’re pretty much on the same page regarding Armstrong, actually. My main problem is that it seems that they tried to take every single thing away from him from his entire past earnings. And, truth be told, he was “doing it” when everybody was “doing it”.
It hints at why I laugh at leftists when they say that Trump lies. I lying politician? That’s just crazy talk. :)
It was funny... but I don’t have any personal investment in his past transgressions. Too much life to live to spend my energies there.
I let jagoffs blow by me all the time on the highway simply because I don't want to get involved in a collision.
Armstrong won races by cheating, but he beat Mike Pence fair and square. Let him have that one and only victory of his lifetime.
