National Guard units seeking to confiscate a cache of recently banned assault weapons were ambushed by elements of a Para-military extremist faction.
Military and law enforcement sources estimate that 72 were killed and more than 200 injured before government forces were compelled to withdraw.
Speaking after the clash, Governor Thomas Gage declared that the extremist faction, which was made up of local citizens, has links to the radical right-wing tax protest movement.
Gage blamed the extremists for recent incidents of vandalism directed against internal revenue offices. The governor, who described the groups organizers as criminals, just issued an executive order authorizing the summary arrest of any individual who has interfered with the governments efforts to secure law and order.
The military raid on the extremist arsenal followed wide-spread refusal by the local citizenry to turn over recently outlawed assault weapons.

Bump...good read!
What a brilliant idea, that would be completely lost on the average leftist lib. Thanks for posting.

The Law that I am proposing would only involve individuals who were called in by relatives and neighbors, or deemed by certain state and Federal agencies as a "threat"......and besides, their guns would only be taken from them temporarily. I guess.
The radical left would have a question mark over their heads because they don’t know history, funny

Nothing gets past you.
BAD! So a relative or neighbor doesn’t like you or has a grudge against you. Calls the law and says that you are a threat. Your right to own weapons is taken away.
Trump has said some great things at rallies regarding the 2nd Amendment, but his actions legislatively have been pretty disappointing.
Rep Steve Scalise, who was shot by a Bernie supporters, suggested that the President tack on National Reciprocity to proposed legislation. The President dismissed the suggestion out of hand. I saw it, it was on camera.
What we got instead were bump stock bans. And what is really insane about that is the President KNOWS that the incident that ignited the bump stock ban (the Las Vegas massacre) was a Deep State operation intended to assassinate a Saudi Prince. There is a reason we never got the full story of what happened in Vegas, and we probably never will.
Moreover, the President is quite aware that the Deep State is tied to these mass shootings. The killers previous social media life is scrubbed, and suddenly anti-immigrant "manifestos" are located.
Yet, Trump proposes Red Flag laws and gun control.
One of the leaders of a gun rights organization said yesterday that the President believes he can give lip service to the 2nd Amendment, then do whatever he wants via gun control, and still count on gun owners for their votes and support. And that the President is gravely mistaken.
I smell Ivanka in this. Brad Parscale needs to look into this and advise Trump.
Um ????????? Sometimes someone ummmmmmm needs to be a bit ummmmm more brushed up on the history of this nation before posting.
Get more coffee.
He’d be better off using Alinsky’s Rule #4 against the left. Force them to make their gun free zones be totally gun free. That is: no guns for police and no guns for private security forces. The best way to get rid of a bad law is to enforce it.
Quite possible, and yes, Parscale needs to turn on his iPhone and start making some phone calls.
Here is another disturbing trend I have seen on social media, and also here.
There are many people who will support any decision or action the President does, not matter what it is. I support him the vast majority of the time. Where I have criticized him are in areas such as the lack of prosecution and arrests for the Deep State, the fact that he has not taken stronger action on the border because we have record numbers of invaders pouring in, and his Tax Bill, which raised taxes on millions of middle class Americans. That last action was one of the major reasons we lost House seats in 2018.
What many people are saying is this:
"So if Trump passes Red Flag laws and gun control, so what!? Where are you gunna go?!! Huh? You gunna vote for the Democrat? You want to ruin the country, is that it!? You selfish person!!!"
Here is where they are wrong. First, they look at this as zero sum game. They figure that even though people are screwed and abused, they have "no where to go", so they'll just sit back and take the violation of rights that they hold sacred.
That isn't human nature. Human beings (most of them anyway) don't like being taken advantage of. They don't like being abused. If someone violates their trust, they are not inclined to go back for more and to support the person or persons that hurt them.
Trump won the 2016 election with a few thousand votes here, and a few thousand votes there.
Take those crucial votes away, and Hillary would have won.
Trump will not win any votes of the Left by signing gun control and "Red Flag Laws" - yet he is saying time and again that he is going to do just that.
That's insane.
But that is what he is proposing.
Agree with all of that.
Except they weren’t national guard.
The Redcoats were the standing army. The militia resisting them were t hff e national guard.
Sharpest tack in the box!
“would only involve individuals who were called in by relatives and neighbors, or deemed by certain state and Federal agencies as a ‘threat’.”
Because relatives, neighbors, and government agencies are above reproach and never lie. [Do I need an “s” here?]
