A staunch supporter of the rights of immigrants - and a married father of five - was killed last week when an illegal immigrant from El Salvador facing deportation crashed into his motorcycle in Colorado.
Sean Buchanan, 45, was driving northbound on Highway 83 on August 2 when Colorado State Patrol say a southbound truck operated by Miguel Ramirez Valiente went off the side of the road, then over-corrected into the wrong lane and crashed into Buchanan's bike, killing him.
Valiente, an undocumented immigrant who was slated for deportation eight months earlier, was charged with misdemeanor careless driving with a revoked license in the deadly accident.
In an ironic twist, Buchanan was known among friends a passionate advocate for all immigrants.
Valiente has a criminal record in Colorado that includes a 2018 conviction for a DUI charge, which earned him a year's probation and the revocation of his license, and a guilty plea to a charge of reckless endangerment in a child neglect case.
On August 1, less than 24 hours before the deadly crash that killed Buchanan, Valiente's probation was extended because he had failed to complete his court-ordered treatment program and community service.
He made national headlines in January when he sought sanctuary at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church in January to avoid deportation to El Salvador during the federal government shutdown.
'I can’t be separated from them,' he said at a press conference at the time, according to The Denver Channel. 'I have always worked hard to support my family, and they depend on me.'

Yes, I disagree strongly with his stance on encouraging the lawless invaders on our southwest border. You can be wrong about some things --- often things you really haven't thought all the way through --- and still be an exemplary man, a patriotic American and a good Christian.
Fending off possible misunderstanding, I repeat that I would argue strongly against the enabling of illegal invasion, which is really nothing short of massive human trafficking. However, I think Mr. Buchanan's involvement was a misguided humanitarianism, not political sedition.
He deserves respect fr his strong personal commitments, inasmuch as he spoke up clearly, and paid up personally --- in contrast to those who score cheap virtue-signaling and PC points, while having no skin in the game.
I think you can honor this, even if the honor is tempered by our rejection of lawbreakers who game the system.
May Sean Buchanan rest receive from the Lord God that which only our merciful Lord can provide.

Will this man’s wife and kids be as forgiving to crimillegals?
Why are illegals put on deportation waiting lists months and years long? They should be on a southbound bus 5 minutes after they’ve been ID’ed.
My observation was very specific, if someone had to die at the hands of our Invaders, may it always be people like him.

Oh yes. Just like the German father who is so devoted to helping Muslim “refugees” that when one raped and murdered his pretty teen-aged daughter, he just told everyone to donate to the refugee charities and just kept on keeping on. Or the family of that girl (was it Molly?) who was raped and strangled by an immigrant. It just hardens their determination to help their pet cause. After all, who wants to admit they’ve made a mistake with lethal consequences?

When the judge orders illegals deported, it needs to happen. Right then. From the courtroom, onto the plane. Out.
This practice of issuing toothless orders and releasing illegals back onto our streets, over & over, with new orders to report for the next merry-go-round of do-nothing bureaucracy, is BS & I’m tired of being taxed into serfdom to pay for this crap.
Compare to American citizens: when the judge remands a convicted criminal to jail, the bailiff parks his butt in the paddy wagon, & he goes from court to jail. Done.
He isn’t released back on the street & politely requested to report to jail later, or if he’d rather not, no prob, we’ll just come looking for him....again.
It sucks how many people like this guy cannot tell the difference
