Missouri police say a man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly showed up to a local Walmart with a loaded rifle and a bulletproof vest.
Police in Springfield, Mo., said nobody was harmed and no shots were fired. The suspect, a white man in his 20s, was detained by an off-duty firefighter until officers arrived on the scene, authorities said.
The man allegedly showed up with a tactical rifle and bulletproof vest, the Springfield News-Leader reported.
Springfield Police Lt. Mike Lucas told the outlet that the man, wearing body armor and military-style clothing, was taking videos on his phone and making comments to people while pushing a shopping cart.
Lucas said the suspect then left the store, where the off-duty firefighter held him at gunpoint until police arrived shortly after.
His intent obviously was to cause chaos here, and he did that, he said.
Lucas said the suspect had more than 100 rounds of ammo, adding that police are still working to determine his motives, including whether he intended to shoot anyone.
His intent was not to cause peace or comfort to anybody that was in the business here, Lucas said. In fact, hes lucky hes alive still, to be honest.
The incident follows Saturdays mass shooting at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, that killed 22 people and injured dozens others.
A separate shooting in Dayton, Ohio, one day later killed nine people and left others wounded.
Check it out... Some of them just down right look tactical!

It appears to be an open carry story.
Might be worth writing up.
He did not shoot anyone, or intend to.
Just that the Media contagion from the MSM has everyone thinking of copy cats.
Not a very bright move by this idiot!
See the optional long strap on the left there? That is an AR single point sling... lol
Dmitriy Nickolayvich Andreychenko, now that’s a real common Ozark Scots-Irish name.
More info. Looks like he has a Russian name and came to MO from Portland, OR.

ALso interesting that an EMT student is caught by ...an armed fireman.
Sometimes gun rights advocates do our cause more harm than good....as you just did.
Yes. Most interesting is all these have similar looks.
Anyone remember that group of young black men/boys singing “Mmmm-mmmm” in support of obamy? I can’t seem to find a picture of them.
Yes. Too many so called copy cats all at once. “They” over played their hand. The garlic festival guy quickly dropped into a memory hole.
They Dayton guy, imo, should not be grouped with the others. More likely, he was gunning for his tranny sister and black boyfriend and just took out others for good measure.
The El Paso guy was also very cooperative with police.
If they arrested all the “armed” people in my local Walmart, they would have no Customers left.
There is no evidence presented that this WallyWorld cruiser did anything other than walk into the store and push a shopping cart while armed and wearing a ballistic vest. He evidently did nothing with his rifle other than carry it over his shoulder. I don’t care about your irrational fears concerning firearms or other tools, if the fellow did nothing other than be present, it is hard to conceive any supportable criminal charge. Mr mdmathis6, your argument and accusation is specious so I suggest that you go dangle along with your participles.
He told authorities that he wanted to see if Walmart respected the 2nd amendment. He had told his wife that he wanted to conduct a social experiment but his wife told him not to do it in light of the recent shootings. She likened his actions to that of an immature boy.
No evidence that he didn’t want to cause trouble? His own wife has spoken out publicly against him, according to the link above.
Part of being able to try and keep our second amendment is that gun owners need to be wise, reasoned, and not to provoke trouble or be easily provoked. We are not to take a “la di da” attitude and say “oh well gorsh, aw shux ah can just wok aroun’ carr’in muh guns anytime’s ah wants to...ah’ll jest wok inta ol’ wallymart there and scare some folk...hol mah beer Bubba” like an Obtuse certain Freeper who is apparently choking on my dangled participles.
Oh of course I’ll bet our suspect spoke his intentions to his wife in perfect Russian!
PS: It was an off duty firefighter that detained him with his own personal weapon until the cops got there. The firefighter was employing his 2nd amendment rights in a manner that would have been considered correct by our founding fathers.
I think the judge reams him a good one, and tells him to do community service and if he behaves he stays out of prison.
He told his wife he was conducting a “social experiment”. His own wife spoke against him per the story above. He was gaslighting but like most such young and stupid males he never considered that he just might be taken seriously and come close to getting his own head blown off!
re: “Liberty requires responsibility as we clearly see here.”
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
re: “He was illustrating the fact that gun control would be enforced illegally”
Litmus test; he wanted to see how “jumpy” the public would be.
And, of course, they were, what with the El Paso Wal-Mart shooting was fresh on everyone’s mind ...
