Tim Ryan to lead 'caravan' of gun-control activists from Ohio to Kentucky rally directed at McConnell
A caravan of gun rights activists will march on Friday through Ohio to Kentucky, led by Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) in an effort to push Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to allow Senate votes on House-passed gun control legislation, Ryan announced Thursday.
It's been 150+ days since the House passed 2 comprehensive gun reform bills & Mitch McConnell still has done nothing. That's unacceptable, tweeted Ryan, a 2020 presidential candidate.
Democrats have called on McConnell to bring Senate back from recess for a special session to vote on a universal background check bill that passed the Democratic-controlled House in February.
Ryans rally follows the weekend's two mass shootings, including one in his home state.
A Sunday shooting in Dayton, Ohio, killed nine people one day after a shooting in El Paso, Texas, that left 22 dead.
These cities are all so similar. Same challenges. Same struggles. Same pride in their communities future. And so to have a tragedy like this is devastating, Ryan said in a text message interview with BuzzFeed News.
But then the response is so powerful. The connection of the community comes to the forefront," he said, adding that he's "more inspired than ever to make change."
Ryans rally will make five stops in Ohio: Niles, Cuyahoga Falls, Westerville, Dayton and Cincinnati. It will conclude in Louisville, Ky., at a City Plaza adjacent to the Muhammad Ali Center.
McConnell is recovering at home in Louisville after fracturing his shoulder tripping on his patio, his office said Sunday.
Will they miss the big machine gun shoot?

No doubt there will be a heavy armed police presence. And for good reason at that site and many other Dem strongholds.
They had better be careful once they get to kentucky. Our “self defense” rules are amazingly lax. Lift up a baseball bat as if you are going to smack me and I have a legal right to shoot you dead - even if I started the argument.
I’m not kidding: https://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/crime/2016/05/19/updates-trail-hot-dog-vendor-road-rage-case/84589552/
I’ve said many times over the last decade that there is a reason you don’t see a lot of leftist physical nonsense in Kentucky.
With any luck McConnell will decide to take a four week vacation to Tahiti until the Senate reconvenes in September. Could you see the liberal media’s head explode?
Why don’t y’all start with the boys and girls in the ‘hood in Chicago and Baltimore?
I don’t know how much clearer they can make it that the end game is confiscation of the white man’s firearms. That’s it.
That, coupled with the hysterical and mindless anti-white bigotry, will give them the tools to completely subjugate the white population.
Do the upper echelons not realize this, or is it they simply do not care?
Yep. This speaks to one of the reasons I moved here from Seattle 8 years ago.
BTW, my daughter moved here with her husband last year and just finished final inspection on their home on five acres here. They love it here.
yep. Run by the Left and ruined by the Left.
No doubt there will be a heavy armed police presence.
If antifa tried here what they do in Portland, it would be a bloodbath. And I think they know that.
Washington County is my ancestral home.
Ironic.... at Ali’s place.. He was a HUGE RACIST. Having been through the museum and listening to the tapes from his interviews..... wow..... he was a chump if there ever was one.
Heh. Very close to me. Cornbread Mafia country!
Their fondest desire is that someone takes a shot at their "caravan" at some point.
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they make such an accusation, whether a shot is taken at them or not.
I also wouldn't be surprised if one of their own doesn't hide in the woods and shoot one straight up to create a media firestorm.
I've heard talk of rabblerousers being "taken for a ride" and they'll frequently wind up in Crime Stoppers missing persons section.
Lots of old abandoned coal mining shafts all over the Midwest. Lot of people are said to hide a lot of different things in some of them.
Sounds like a good time to plan some sort of battle reenactment along side the road cannons and all. Might bring some reality to the consequences of their actions. lol
I have a measly 32 acres and have found some “interesting” hiding places.
