every film today has to have said plucky little 110 pound female saving all these able bodied males’ bacon, while cooking dinner for the kids and caring for both sets of aging parents...all followed by some preachy commentary on how women can care for themselves very well, thank you...Hollywood has to contain the laziest ‘creative artistes’ in the history of humankind...
Well, with this genre, that kind of goes back to the 70s. Halloween, Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, all those old slasher movies always had the “innocent” girl be the one to survive. So I don’t get too upset when I see that in these movies, because it’s always been that way.
Now, female “action hero” taking out a team of roided out Russian assassins? Yeah, that’s gotten real old, real fast.
