The democrats have had that appetite for years. I have been impressed with trump as president, but I don’t trust him on the 2nd amendment.

The people staunchly pushing for red flag will never vote for Trump no matter what he does. So we’ll see what Trump ends up doing.

IMO Trump needs to take the conversation to another, more serious level. While the media talks about racism (what instigated all the mass killers before we had a ‘racist president’?) there are serious issues to explore. For example, we know the guy in Dayton admitted to a ‘mental illness’. In either case both of the murderers clearly were mentally ill, ungrounded. I would like to know if either of them, or both of them, were taking mood altering drugs, anti-depressants etc. Or, if they were addicted to illicit drugs.

I know this is not a unique observation, but a number of the previous mass murderers were on mood altering prescriptions. Those drugs may work great for 99% of the people but they all say right on their labels that in small numbers of subjects tested they exhibited paranoia, rage, hallucination, ideation etc. Just run the numbers if X million people are on these drugs that means X thousands of people are being driven mad.

He is the best we are ever going to get open the 2A.

As a practical matter I will work my tail off for him.

Sure, I would like someone better, but he beats any Dem on the planet.

Wayne needs to get with the program.

From reports I read the guns used were legally purchased so what do enhanced background checks get us? They would close a loophole in private gun sales perhaps.

"Red flag" laws are being proposed as a grant to states to fund their implementation thus protecting states rights and federalism. We see story after story where law enforcement knew something about a perp before hand. Florida, for example. They need the tools to get to these nut cases.

What Sen Graham is proposing seems reasonable and protects due process.

Because it's implemented at the state-level, we can police our states and hold them accountable. That's how it should be.

President Trump is baiting the Democrats on Second Amendment restrictions. He will never sign any measures that will restrict the right of the people to bear arms. He has nothing to gain by such proposals.

There already ARE background checks when you purchase a firearm from a dealer.

Is he talking about PRIVATE sales? NONE of the shootings in recent years have involved firearms that were purchased from private sellers.

Shooters in recent years passed background checks because they didn’t have any criminal convictions; they were not prohibited persons.

If the president wants to do something, he can ban “gun free” zones.

Also, most of these shooters in the last ten years were in their late teens to early - mid twenties.

Stop giving these young men Ritalin and other psychotropic drugs. It causes some of them to go crazy.

While there at it, stop booting God out of the schools. Nature abhors a vacuum, and what replaces God is dangerous and evil.

I’m amazed he would totally backstab his base over #2A the ppl who stood in line for hours every time a freak leftist goes nuts.
Red Flag laws are the gateway for ever encroaching attacks on freedom. Trump would basically be setting loose ferals to go after the normal law-abiding patriots.
Don Jr. knows not many ppl could afford to fight off concocted charges on their gun rights.
THIS IS F&#%$#& UP!
His son makes alot more sense on 2A

You know that “due process” requires you to hire an attorney to defend your right to possess a firearm. Sure you could probably go it alone, but you’re going to be going against attorneys. Do you think most of America is financially prepared to defend their right to possess a firearm?

The bottom line is, in a country of 320 plus million people there is no way you’re gonna stop the murder of 31. I know it sounds harsh, but the fact is it’s not preventable.

The only real question is, do they start banning guns 1st, or do they require everyone in America to register all their guns so they know where to seize them? The first mass shooting after they pass these laws will require additional knee jerk legislation.

"Wayne needs to get with the program."

I disagree with that. I do agree with Wayne's position against Trump's universal background check effort.

“He is the best we are ever going to get open the 2A.”

Then we may as well throw in the towel now, because what he is proposing is the death of the second amendment.

The universal background check is not possible. Party A selling to Party B isn’t a traceable transaction. The personnel are not present or trained and I lost it in a boating accident is the reply. If it’s used in a crime. The number of untraceable fire arms is astronomical. It’s a mental health and drug issue.

Say, “No red flag!” The next rally might be an opportunity to be heard chanting while walking back out in an orderly manner. Some small posters with hammer and sickle flags with “not” symbols over them might help get the message across the vast gap between us and the noisy elite.

No red flag! No red flag! No red flag!
