Garcia-Siller said there was “no justifiable explanation for such scenes of horror.”
But what was clear to the archbishop, who recently supported migrants and asylum seekers crossing the southern border, was that President Trump’s “invasion” rhetoric against Hispanics, language echoed in a manifesto police believe was posted by the alleged El Paso gunman, helped create a climate that led to the tragedy.

“My opinions on automation, immigration, and the rest predate Trump and his campaign for president,” Patrick Crusius said in his manifesto. The fact it, Trump was no instigator. Crusius was inspired by the Christ Church shooter who, like Crusius also posted his his manifesto to 8chan as well. It looks like that manifesto was Crusius’ true inspiration.

He also ignores the Catholic teaching that says migrants should respect and follow the laws of the country(ies) they migrate to.
