Lawyers bringing a lawsuit against the Boy Scouts of America said Tuesday they believe they've turned up allegations of sexual abuse against more than 350 people not previously identified in files released by the organization.
Attorneys with the Abused in Scouting group filed a lawsuit Monday in Philadelphia Common Pleas Court, alleging a one-time scout leader sexually abused a minor identified only by initials.
The suit alleges that the abuse of the then-12- or 13-year-old victim by an assistant scout leader started around 1974 or 1975 and continued until about 1980.
It also says that the lawyers received allegations of abuse from their clients against more than 350 people involved with the scouts who had not previously been named.
The Irving, Texas-based scouts compiled so-called ineligible volunteer files for years on people considered to pose a risk of abuse, and about 5,000 of these files have been made public as a result of court action.
Monday's suit is claiming that the lawyers now have hundreds of names that were not in those public files. It does not list the names.
"It is apparent that the Boy Scouts Defendants continue to hide the true nature of their cover-up and the extent of the pedophilia epidemic within their organizations," the lawsuit alleged.
An email message seeking comment was sent to the Boy Scouts.
The lawsuit comes as states have begun changing their statutes of limitations to make it easier for long-ago victims of sexual assault can seek damages in court.
The Boy Scouts have said previously that when any volunteer is added to the database for suspected abuse, "they are reported to law enforcement, removed entirely from any Scouting and prohibited from re-joining anywhere."
The sexual abuse settlements have begun to strain the Boy Scouts' finances to the point where the organization has said it's exploring "all available options," including Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Too bad for the good men among us.
What’s crazy is the bsa kept these records so they could keep these pedos from moving to another scout group and doing it again.
Sooner or later, the pedophiles are going to start suing the boys for resisting their advances.

I still have a problem believing it was as widespread as claimed...not that there weren’t abuses, but it does seem to me that it would have been difficult for the Boy Scouts to cover it up, at least relative to the Catholic Church, for example - where you’d be going against an institution that’s nearly 2000 years old.
To put it another way, there were a LOT of police departments and prosecutors who were not necessarily into the ‘male-bonding’ that is claimed to have taken place and they would not have hesitated to toss the a-holes into jail...yet nothing but silence then, at least as far as I can remember.
Now today, TOTALLY DIFFERENT - people are scared to death to go after this crap...I would believe anything, given the pro-pedophile bunch we’re now up against.

Judging from the drag queen events around the country, a lot of the parents probably approve of the molestations these days.

Why would those that claim to be the one and only 'bride of Christ', need to commission a 'report' about their 'holy fathers' abusing its own members... prepubescent children have NO voice... and the 'holy' people sure took great measures to make sure they were not heard. Remember ... it makes absolutely no difference what 'my' opinion is, but our Heavenly Father keeps the perfect record... HE knows who messed with his children!!!!!!!! There is nothing 'anti-Catholic' in exposing the FACTS... Take that ...

The BSA has been a “dead man walking” since the SCOTUS ruling.
This is going to sound extreme, but I believe the organization should have closed itself down at that point.
Instead we get to witness this ignoble end. As well as wonder how many molestations would have been prevented once homosexuals were allowed lead troops.
Thank homosexuals. Never should have let them near kids. Everyone needs to learn the lesson from this, else it will be repeated, and likely is whereever there are homosexuals around kids.

Stick a fork in the BSA (no pun). It’s just like the GSA which I pulled my daughter out of indoctrinating sex,abortion and social BS while pushing stupid cookies. Bottom line is that the left destroys EVERYTHING it touches and is rolling on even more so in the Trump era which is just shocking but not surprising.
I won’t be happy until they go for a BK Chapter 7 and close it down.
Once they went down the path of basically supporting Homosexuality, they destroyed their reputation forever.
a man can make up a story just like that because it was decades ago and a lot of the abusers, or so called are dead or senile.....there is no defense to muster because people have their minds made up.....
There are times when the civilized world faces a truly demonic enemy who is the personification of evil.
This is one of those times.

Letting gays into the BSA as scout masters was the Trojan Horse to destroy it.
A great organization that has done a lot of good over the years destroyed in the name of perversion.
